After sleeping with mobster Joey Gamarra's daughter, New Jersey restaurateur Louis Thomas must flee to California with his mother, Rita, and brother, Alex. Once there, the brothers get jobs at chic restaurant Zavatti where, unknown to the boys, their father, Peter Evans, is the manager. Meanwhile Andrea Zavatti breaks off her relationship with her boyfriend, George, and gets some comfort from the Thomas brothers.

Alex and Louis get new jobs at a Beverly Hills restaurant, where they are both attracted to the owner's daughter, Andrea Zavatti.

The brothers compete for Andrea's affection, unaware that Joey Gamarra's mob enforcers are in the process of tracking them down.

George recruits Erica to frame Alex for theft, but the plan backfires. Alex lands a dinner date with Andrea, but Louis deviously swoops in and steal the date. Meanwhile, the Thomas siblings find refuge with Rita's old flame, Peter Evans; and piano man Daniel catches Christoph cheating on his wife with Penelope.

Andrea has an erotic dream about Alex, but before she has a chance to ask him out, her friend Jessica beats her to it -- so Louis seizes the opportunity and asks Andrea out. Rita and Peter begin to become closer. George and Suzy get arrested for having sex in public and get carted to jail, where George winds up rooming with Cully and Vincent.

Peter bails George out of jail, while Vincent and Cully overhear Peter saying he had to leave and drive Louis and Alex to work. Vincent asks George to help them. Suzy tells Andrea that George and her had sex. Andrea was shocked but told her that it was ok with her. Cara asks her father what he is planning and where Vincent and Cully are but he wouldn't tell her. Claudia becomes even more suspicious of Christoph when he mistakes her for Penelope. Andrea reads the letter that Louis wrote for her (Alex really wrote the letter). She decides that she wants to give them a chance. When they begin to kiss, Alex sees them.

Alex is promoted to su-chef. Andrea and Louis agree to keep their relationship a secret at the restaurant. Suzy continues to tempt George. Claudia questions Daniel about Christoph being faithful. Cara overhears her fathers plans involving Louis. Vincent and Cully stake out the club where Alex, Jessica, Louis, and Andrea are. Alex sees them and warns Louis but doesn't believe him. Andrea and Louis almost take their relationship to the next level but at the last moment Andrea decides she's not ready.

Jessica lies to everyone about sleeping with Alex, who doesn't remember what happened because he had too much to drink the night before. Peter warns Louis about what Harold and George might do if they find out about his relationship with Andrea. George tricks Suzy into telling him who Andrea is going out with. When he finds out its Louis he calls Vincent. Louis and Andrea finally consummate their relationship, and Andrea agrees to no longer hide her feelings for him.

Harold finds out about Andrea and Louis. He confronts Andrea and they argue which causes him to collapse. Christoph in an attempt to poison Daniel for getting to close to his wife, Claudia. Instead Penelope drinks from the glass and falls to the floor. Vincent and Cully pay of George for information on Louis' wareabouts. He tells them that they are working at Zavatti's. They pay Peter a visit but he wouldn't tell them anything. Alex comes home to find Peter tied up. Peter tells him that he is their father.

Louis makes plans to leave, and says goodbye to his family. Meanwhile, Daniel manages to trick Christoph into revealing a secret about his past.

In a shocking turns of events, Louis is kidnapped. Meanwhile, George hatches an evil plot with his half-sister Victoria.

Alex discovers that Hawkins is corrupt. Meanwhile, the Thomases try to figure out why their family is having such troubles.
