Freud is preparing for a presentation to the Vienna medical profession. He wants to demonstrate the effectiveness of hypnosis. Inspector Kiss tries to save a seriously injured man with Freud's help.

When Freud receives the news that Clara von Schönfeld, the girl from Fleur's visions, has disappeared, he is alarmed. An anonymous message leads the police officers also investigating this case to the underground in Vienna.

Kiss faces Georg von Lichtenberg in a duel. Fleur has a bloody vision again and visits Freud. Under hypnosis, she can see further details and identify the perpetrator.

Inspector Kiss exposes the kidnapper with the help of a witness. Fleur tries to make up for last night with Crown Prince Rudolf in the Szápárys Palace.

A transformed Fleur seduces Freud, who is under increasing pressure, distracted by noises from the apartment next door. In the Szápáry Palace, young men appear for a secret ritual.

Freud searches for answers about his neighbor Szpilman, a musician who survived the legendary Ring Theater fire and thenhuged himself. The Szápárys are invited to the imperial family's "Ball of the Nations".

Freud hides Fleur in his apartment.

With the "Ball of the Nations" in full swing, Freud, Fleur, Kiss and Poschacher attempt to execute their plan.
