Scruffy, cab-driver Ed is hardly the saviour-most-likely, until one day he receives an Ace of Diamonds playing card, the addresses of three strangers written on it. Who sent this card? And what is Ed meant to do with it?
Ed must confront just how far he'll go to complete the card and comes to realise the messages may be coming from someone very close.
Ed finally ticks off all the messages on the Ace of Diamonds but then another ace appears and Ed realizes this is only the beginning.
Completing the second ace builds Ed's confidence, and unexpectedly leads him closer to his estranged family, only to spin him further away.
The arrival of a third ace convinces Ed the cards are his true calling, something that alienates his friends and puts all his relationships at risk.
Christmas gives Ed the chance to make peace with those closest to him, but a sudden loss leaves him questioning his sanity.
When Ed puts his best mates on the Ace of Hearts, he's shocked to learn how little he really knows about those he loves most.
