Stardate 52645.7: With Odo knocking at death's door, scant time remains to find a cure. In an effort to lure Section 31 out of hiding to obtain the vaccine, Doctor Bashir and Chief O'Brien have gone behind Captain Sisko's back. Now, telling him about their plan, Doctor Bashir informs Sisko that Section 31 is the only hope that Odo has left.

Voyager answers a distress call, only to find a bio-neural device imbedded in rock on a planet. Voyager beams the device back to Voyager, but then learns from the Doctor that the device is actually a weapon of mass destruction. Torres must remove the bio-neural mind of the device from the weapon. However, her attempt awakens it, and it then arms itself. Torres then tries to fry the device with an electro-magnetic pulse, only to find the device has taken over the Doctor's program. Now the device / Doctor demands it be taken to its intended target, the home planet its creator's were at war with.

Every attempt to deceive the device fails, and soon Voyager finds itself surrounded by thirty-two more devices. Voyager must now stop all the devices from completing their task, as Voyager's investigation reveals that the devices had been given a recall order, as the war is over; an order the devices refused to accept as being a deception by the enemy.

Leo is badly injured while trying to protect a woman from a Darklighter, the evil counterpart to Whitelighters like himself. Piper attempts to switch powers with Leo in order to heal him, but accidentally causes Prue and Phoebe's powers to get mixed up as well.

All of the gang's lives go through changes. After Andie begins seeing her dead brother Tim in the last episode, Jack and Pacey agree to call Mr. McPhee not realizing that he'll want them to be treated in Providence, not Capeside. All are stunned at the new changes and Andie and Pacey must decide if Andie's mental wellness is more important than being together. Jack also must decide whether or not to go with Andie or stay. Dawson while helping Mr. Potter extend the Ice House interviews him for a film project about his changed life, but has it changed? Jen decides to make a change so she calls her mother and inquires about returning home or visiting and is told it is inconvenient right now.

Greg discovers he should pay more attention to his wife's intuition when Dharma has a nightmare and begs him not to go away on a business trip.

Kelly tells Matt about the rape. Dylan puts up a $100,000 reward for information leading to the capture of the rapist. Some men try to ambush him and take the money, but Matt helps chase them away. Joe asks Matt to help him file a lawsuit charging police brutality. He goes to Now Wear This and finds Kelly working alone. When she recognizes him, he locks the door and brandishes a knife. She pulls her gun out of her purse and fires off a round of shots. Noah breaks up with Donna because he does not trust her. Believing that Donna's behavior stemmed from concern for Kelly, he comes over to apologize. He finds that she has slept with Wayne, and refuses to give her another chance. Wayne leaves for the summer to play in a series of tournaments. However, he then takes a job in Los Angeles and tells Donna that he wants to be with her.
