In Enterprise's brig, Archer briefs Reed on the situation: the Klingons altered the ship's engineering subroutines and if Enterprise drops below warp 5, the reactor will explode. Archer has a plan to bring Trip aboard from Columbia, but he needs Reed's help.

Joan is convinced that she's meant to help Stevie keep her part-time job with Adam, despite Stevie's mother's order that she quit. In an effort to supply Stevie with the Social Security number that Stevie's mother is withholding, Joan gets Kevin to use his investigative reporting skills. Kevin's findings end up leading Will to make a discovery that quickly turns Stevie's world upside-down. Meanwhile, Adam is upset with Joan for telling Helen that he tried to have sex with her, and Kevin is conflicted when the local television station asks him to do a report that pertains to paralysis.

As the Replicators threaten to take over the entire galaxy, Carter and Thor work on a new weapon, while an alliance is made with the Goa'uld System Lord Ba'al.

Aang is excited about finally going home again for the first time in one hundred years, but he is shocked to find out that the temple is deserted. Aang tells Sokka and Katara about his childhood as they explore the temple, but they soon discover something that Aang never expected, also Aang discovers a new friend that joins them throughout their journey. Meanwhile, Prince Zuko must make repairs to his ship, and the only way he can do it is to dock his ship at his rival's naval base.

Mac and Lt. Vukovic go to Indonesia to negotiate with a modern-day pirate for the release of Naval hostages. Meanwhile, Bud and Harriet have an open house in celebration of their new twin babies.

With her daughter's school about to be closed as a cost-cutting measure, Natalie becomes a candidate in the upcoming school board election despite Monk's fears that she'll desert him if she wins. Natalie's frustrations with a jammed photocopier and other defective equipment bought at a police auction are dwarfed by fear for her life when a sniper fires into her campaign headquarters, further damaging the equipment and killing a security guard. The only clues to the identity of the sniper are an oddly folded note demanding that "Natalie Teege" withdraw from the election and a bullet from a semiautomatic rifle made in Russia.

The planet Dagan may be home to a vitally important ZPM, capable of restoring Atlantis' shield and protecting the city from the Wraith, but a mysterious 'Brotherhood' on the planet - and their knowledge of the Genii - suggest that the planet may not be what it seems.

When a Cylon agent is found aboard a ship in the fleet, Adama, by Roslin's request, sends Kara to interrogate the one called Leoben Conoy. Though she approaches impenetrable to his tactics, the Cylon engages her in a discussion of his specific dogma, including how special he believes Kara to be.

While consulting with the NTSB at the scene of the wreck, Don learns that this tragedy is one of a series of recreated accidents involving railroad negligence. As is the pattern with the previous train wrecks, an undecipherable numerical code is left at the site, which Don recruits Charlie to solve. By breaking the code, Charlie is able to establish that this accident was a recreation of a deadly wreck that left only one survivor several years ago. Don's investigation leads him and his team to a dangerous standoff with their suspect, who has surprising ties to the railway system.
