Dylan's friend Sarah comes to an AA meeting. He offers his support, and she begins to rely on him. She seeks his help in throwing her abusive boyfriend out of the apartment. She kisses Dylan, but he points out that romances between addicts can be dangerous. Dylan's decision to help Sarah puts a strain on his relationship with Brenda. She flirts with Tim, a college guy from her aerobics class. They kiss in the Walsh driveway after he gives her a ride home. Dylan finds Sarah drinking with her boyfriend. She refuses his help and claims that he is to blame for her relapse because he rejected her. Dylan and Brenda reaffirm their relationship. Nat installs a karaoke machine in the hopes of increasing business. The machine is a big hit with Jim and the kids, but the novelty quickly wears off. Music: 'We Want the Funk' by Gerardo.

After taking career aptitude tests, Lisa discovers that the occupation she's best suited for is homemaker, while Bart is pegged as a future police officer. Each takes the opportunity to explore their options as Lisa spends the day doing chores at home with Marge and Bart goes on a ride along with the police. Lisa hates her role and rebels by becoming a troublemaker at school, but police life fits Bart like a glove and he becomes a hall monitor.

Frasier wants Lilith to confront her overbearing mother and Rebecca wants Sam to make Norm pay his bar tab.
