Enterprise is still undergoing repairs, but Captain Archer is determined to make it to Degra's rendezvous point on time. The crew, however, is still reeling from the loss of the 18 crewmen who died during the Xindi attack. The loss seems to be hitting Trip especially hard, particularly when Archer orders him to write a letter of condolence to an engineering crewman's family. T'Pol, meanwhile, is dealing with problems of her own - she's coping with the lingering effects of her trellium addiction, and is finding her emotions difficult to control. Phlox points out that the addiction caused serious damage to her neural pathways. She may have to learn to live with these emotions.

Believing that key information about his father's past was lost when his memory was erased, Lex decides to join an experimental program with Dr. Garner to regain the information so he can turn his father over to the FBI. Knowing that Lex will discover his secret if he regains his memory, Clark tries to stop him but is caught by Lionel and the doctor and exposed to the same radical treatment so that Lionel can solve the mystery of Clark's past.

Meanwhile Brent realizes there may be more to his relationship with Lacey than he thought

When Illyria's powers become unstable and cause her to erratically jump through time, she learns that the gang intends to kill her. Upon returning to the present, Illyria plans to murder everyone before they're able to attack her. To save everyone's lives, Angel goes into the past with Illyria to alter the course of events.

Seth, Ryan, Sandy, and Caleb head to Las Vegas for Caleb's bachelor party. Meanwhile, back in Newport, Kirsten throws together a bachelorette party for Julie. Marissa and Theresa begin spending time together, and Marissa learns more about Theresa than she bargained for.

After a fancy dinner at the White House, President Bartlet and his staff are placed on lock-down when a suspicious substance is detected. While waiting for clearance to leave, the staff are forced to stay in small rooms where they reflect on their past and their relationships with one another. However, the night turns confrontational when Toby accuses Will of being a backstabber to the President. Meanwhile, Debbie and Charlie agree to be inspected; C.J. gives Donna advice; and Josh tries find out why his joke was omitted from a speech.
