Lucy gets an invitation to have pizza with two rebellious friends, then blames herself for the tragic car accident that claims her friend's life, and her sister in the hospital. After Lucy's friend is killed, the family rallies around her, noticing her unusually distant behavior. In addition, Mary does a favor for her ex-boyfriend Wilson and baby-sits his son Billy so he can go to his prom. Also, Simon gets his own room while Matt moves into the attic.

Quinn writes a paper in Mr. O'Neill's English class that the teacher really likes and recites to the class. Quinn becomes scared that she will now become an outcast because people think she's a 'brain', but just the opposite happens: she becomes a popular brain, and starts to work with it. Daria, meanwhile, finds herself losing her own identity since Quinn is the school brain now.

The firm takes on a high-profile case of a jilted spouse who is suing a United States Senator for "interfering with the otherwise happy marital relations". The case takes on perversely similar parallels to the love triangle of Ally, Billy and Georgia. Also, the "Dancing Baby" pays another viist.

Neely asks Mitch if he knows a cheap hotel she and Ashley can stay in while her apartment is being renovated. He tells her that they can move in with him and Hobie. Because Neely works as a waitress in a bar during the evenings, Mitch gets to baby-sit Ashley a lot and he get more and more attached to her as time goes by. When Neely is fired from her job by her boss Tommy, and learns that her land-lord ripped her off, Mitch tells Neely that she and Ashley can move in with him permanently and Neely accepts the offer. Ashley plays poker with Mitch, Newmie and Cody and she wins.
