Richard, Kahlan and Zedd discover that peddlers are selling the villagers of Drundril elixirs, potions that temporarily give them magical powers. Searching for the makers of the potions, Zedd confronts a wizard who was once his student, but is now a dangerous and powerful rival.

Bruce and Tess return with the results of this week's combined vote. Estelle performs on the show before Tess and Bruce announce that Christine and Rachel are in the bottom two. After both couples have performed again the judges decide to save Rachel leaving Christine eliminated from the competition.

After being called to investigate an unidentified girl wandering along an empty field, Inspector Wallander witnesses her inexplicably set herself on fire.

While trying to find out who she was, three bizarre and brutal murders take place, involving the victims being scalped.

On the home front, Wallander is adjusting to being separated from his wife and is forced to deal with the difficult relationship he has with his aging father.
