The Elrics finally reach their childhood hometown of Risembool. As the brothers bide their time while Winry and her grandmother make their repairs, they sort through the ashes of their old home. But as Ed makes a visit to their mother's grave, Al comes to a disturbing realization about himself.

Daniel begins to have persistent dreams about his former lover, Sarah Gardner. These dreams feel very real to Jackson, who is now finding his nightly sleeps are not restful at all. The team looks into the cause of Jackson's dreams, and they find a big surprise. At the same time, Carter begins a romantic relationship with Pete Shanahan. Jake finds out that the NSA plans to give another more experienced agent the nanites, and is concerned he may be replaced. He is then badly injured during a rescue operation at a Serbian POW camp to rescue an operative that Beckett was forced to leave behind five years earlier. While Jake lies in a coma, the electronics at the hospital begin to act strangely, killing a man, and Jake is the prime suspect.

Monk suspects the star of a hit TV crime show of killing his ex-wife. His only problem: the actor's rock solid alibi.
