Buffy moves into her dorm and attempts to adjust to college life. Everything around her seems to have changed without the constant interaction with the gang she had in High School. With Giles becoming a 'gentleman of leisure', Willow getting more and more excited about college and Xander still away on his road trip, she again believes that she must fight and survive on her own when she discovers a gang of tough vampires operating on campus.

When the financial realities of Greg's unemployment sink in, Dharma takes on a slew of new jobs and makes a deal with the devil to make ends meet: she accepts covert checks from Kitty in exchange for expanded mother/daughter-in-law time spent together. Only when Edward takes Greg to a high-power suits party while Kitty takes her to the opera to see "Faust" does Dharma come to her senses and rush back just in time to prevent Greg from accepting a corporate job.

The plant is closed and now Red is out of work. Instead of heading home, Red goes to a bar. After so long, Kitty sends Eric after Red. Kelso snags a 'Shaggin' Wagon' complete with shag carpet.

Angel moves to LA, where he meets up with Cordelia, another Sunnydale transplant who comes to work for him, and Doyle, a half-demon who gets visions of people in trouble. Together they try to save a woman who lives in fear of a powerful vampire.
