George, Sr. is finally apprehended by authorities, but the police soon discover they had mistaken Oscar for his twin brother, George, Sr. With the real George, Sr. still at large, Michael becomes the next in line to be prosecuted within the Bluth Company for the crimes his father committed. Michael scrambles to find the money to keep himself out of jail only to find that the rest of his family are doing fine without him -- Lindsay and Tobias fixed their relationship by agreeing to have an open relationship, G.O.B. is at the helm of the Bluth Company, and Lucille asked Oscar to move in with her to be a role model for Buster.
As Michael's legal troubles continue, G.O.B. agrees to be the head of the company until Michael is in the clear. While Michael is pulling the strings in background, as G.O.B. and Michael planned, he begins to go crazy when G.O.B.'s ridiculous ideas impress the board. Meanwhile, the identity mishaps between George, Sr. and Oscar continue when George, Sr. is arrested in Mexico for a crime that Oscar committed, and Oscar takes George, Sr.'s place in a way that no one saw coming.
Michael plans a family trip to Mexico to get back the staircar. G.O.B., suspicious of Michael's behavior, hires a bounty hunter to follow his every move. But when Michael learns about the bounty hunter, he hires the bounty hunter to track down his father. Meanwhile, Buster mistakenly thinks he's in Mexico after spending some time with Lupe and her family.
The bounty hunter hired in the previous episodes tells the family that George, Sr. is dead. The news hits the family hard, prompting Michael to spend more time with his son, G.O.B. tries a new allusion, and Maeby tries to set her mother up with the bounty hunter. However, George, Sr. is closer to the family then they all think.
Despite Wayne Jarvis' strong suggestion to turn George, Sr. in, Michael decides to keep his father hidden until he can come up with a plan as to how to fix the situation. But when George, Sr. confesses that the only reason he came back was to win back his wife, Michael begins to worry that her new relationship with Oscar will be revealed. Meanwhile, Tobias takes up a new hobby, working out, and Lindsay tries to get to know Steve Holt better.
As a prank, someone throws the banana stand into the nearby bay, forcing Michael to rebuild it. Meanwhile, G.O.B., as acting president of the Bluth Company, prepares for the annual Christmas party, but things take a turn when G.O.B. fires everyone when they use him as a topic for their roast. In turn, Michael is forced to throw another party to win the employees back and decides to double the re-opening of the new banana stand with the party. Meanwhile, Buster ditches the Army for a day and spends his time at an arcade.
The president of the Bluth Company's rival, Sitwell, hires G.O.B. in order to win a softball game against the Bluth Company prompting Michael to ask G.O.B. to throw the game. G.O.B. considers it, but when he finds his new boss fatherly and kind, G.O.B. begins to rethink things. Meanwhile, Lindsay suffers bizarre side effects after taking anti-depressants.
Michael finds out the Bluth Company stock has been unfrozen so he sells a few shares to buy a car. However, the rest of the family, despite several warnings not to, sells their stock which causes the Bluth family to lose control of the company. Meanwhile, Lucille 2 returns and is crushed to find that Buster is dating a secretary.
Michael tries to get back together with Sall Sitwell, a woman he used to have a crush on, but Lucille and George, Sr. constantly get in the way of him doing so. Meanwhile, G.O.B. falls for Lucille 2 and Lucille begins to stress out when she thinks that since Buster has a girlfriend, no one will bid on her at the Bachelorette Auction.
The Bluths think that Lucille 2 is making a deal to sell the company so in order to save it, George, Sr. calls Uncle Jack, a family friend, for help. But Uncle Jack will only help the family if he's promised a date with Lindsay, leading Michael to try to distract Tobias away from the situation. Meanwhile, G.O.B. and Buster try find out what Lucille 2 is up to but end up fighting over her.
Michael bumps into his ex-girlfriend, Maggie Lizer, and is shocked to find out that she's pregnant. Michael soon begins to think that he's the father, which threatens his relationship with Sally. Meanwhile, Buster learns he's being deployed to Iraq and George Michael has a hard time breaking up with his girlfriend.
Buster loses his hand when a seal bites it off and is forced to have a hook for a hand. Meanwhile, Michael tries to find the truth behind the paternity of Maggie's baby.
Lucille takes George Michael to the mother-son dance instead of Buster, her typical date. Seeing this, Buster and Michael team up to save George Michael from Lucille, but things don't go as planned. Meanwhile, Tobias lands a role similar in nature to George, Sr., which turns Lindsay on.
George Michael runs for school president. All goes well until Michael gets involved in his son's campaign. Michael asks G.O.B. to help, but G.O.B. sinks George Michael's campaign when he makes an offensive campaign video. Meanwhile, Tobias moves out and Buster sleeps with Lupe.
G.O.B. takes advantage of Buster's fake hand in his magic shows leading Tony Wonder to mentor G.O.B. Meanwhile, Michael is hospitalized and Lindsay teaches George Michael how to drive the staircar.
George Michael gives Ann a promise ring, which worries Michael that their relationship is progressing too fast. Michael decides to talk to Ann's parents, but his talk with them doesn't go as well as planned. Meanwhile, G.O.B. and George, Sr. team up to get Lucille away from Oscar.
It's once again Spring Break and G.O.B. gets the opportunity to confront Phillip Litt, the magician who used G.O.B.'s magic trick mistakes on the 'Girls with Low Self-Esteem' video. Meanwhile, Michael tricks Lucille into going to rehab by telling her it's a spa, but is forced to go back to Lucille for help when Kitty kidnaps George, Sr. and uses him to blackmail the Bluth family.
An inspector comes to the model home to check the plumbing, forcing George, Sr. to leave the attic to avoid being discovered. G.O.B. offers to help his father, but ends up doing more harm than good. Meanwhile, Ann and George Michael boycott 'Dangerous Liaisons', but inadvertently make it more successful, and Tobias and Kitty begin to hit it off.
