In this special double-bill, marking Casualty's 20th anniversary, action takes place both in Holby and Cambodia, where Duffy has set up a clinic.
Charlie, Guppy, Abs and Comfort head to Cambodia to help out Duffy. When a young boy asks for help with his sick father, it sparks a chain of events that put Guppy's surgical skills to the test and prompt Charlie to raise suspicions about the clinic's surgeon, Mike.
Meanwhile, back in England, Maggie and Harry are learning to work with a new doctor on exchange from Cambodia. When a young man is brought in, suffering from an overdose, a call from Cambodia forces Harry to make a decision that will have fatal consequences.
As tensions run high in Holby, things take a turn for the worse when a bus full of schoolchildren crashes and topples over.
Casualty is the world's longest running and most successful medical drama series on television. It depicts the private and working lives of the patients, doctors, nurses and all others attending a small but frantically busy accident and emergency department of the large Holby General hospital. By mixing episodic plots with longer, character-based stories it ensures that we get to know the characters as people with lives, not just doctors or nurses. With consistently superb storylines and great acting, Casualty is compulsive viewing. The show began in 1986 and since then only one character remains; the one and only Charlie Fairhead played by Derek Thompson.
