Humans discover the "Hairies" live among them, and seek to imprison and marginalize them. Meanwhile, half-brothers Koen and Waruu West discover that one of them is chosen as the Cleverman: the link between the Dreaming and the real world.

A woman's voice in his head torments Koen, leading him to a secret lab. Meanwhile, Waruu and Geoff square off on national TV, and Jarrod tries to convince Charlotte to try once more to have a child.

Problems at the Containment Center create further panic; while both Waruu and Koen reject Slade's offer to help in a mysterious laboratory.

As public fear of the Hairies increases after a massacre at a nursing home, Waruu tries to get Jarrod to send a film crew into the Zone. Meanwhile, Jarrod and his scientist discover the secret to the Hairies' strength and stamina... and how to transfer it to humans.

Charlotte goes to Ilithya for IFV, unaware that Jarrod has arranged for her to receive the Hairy serum. Meanwhile, Koen uses his power for the first time to save a young boy, while Matthews prepares to cleanse the Zone once and for all.

As Matthews prepares to have the CA clear out the Zone once and for all, Waruu discovers Jarrod's plans and tells Koen... and the two brothers go to confront the man.
