Today is a day like no other at Broadhill retirement home. Derek is watching Dougie as he attempts to repair a table's wobbly leg as he discovers a baby bird that's fallen from a tree. Derek is desperate to save bird's life and rushes inside to announce the emergency and ask Hannah to call Rolf Harris or Bill Oddie. Derek and some of the residents also attend a jumble sale and it is also date night for Tom and Hannah, but she's forgotten about it.

Derek Show Summary

He works in a retirement home with his mate and landlord, Dougie. Derek cares deeply for old people because they're kind and funny and tell him stories about the olden days. Hannah is a care worker at the home and is Derek's best friend. She's smart, witty and hardworking, but unlucky in love, and like Derek, always puts other people first.
