Six months have passed since the events of last season. Even as Lisa and Nick plan to celebrate his birthday privately and quietly, Tripp and Letitia Darling decide to throw a lavish party for Nick on their yacht. Nick helps in reconciling Tripp and Patrick, who is still burdened with his troubled marriage and missing transgendered lover. Brian is reunited with his illegitimate son, while Karen and Simon Elder escalate their relationship. Jeremy reveals his feelings for Lisa to Nola Lyons. Amidst the Darling drama, a passing occurs within the family, and someone is arrested for cuddle.

One week has passed since the events following Nick's birthday party. Further information is revealed about Nola Jones. Leticia's trial commences, as well as Ellen's memorial service. Tripp asks Nick to make a decision as to who should be appointed co-chair (and successor) to Darling Enterprises, which causes all of the Darlings to make their case to Nick.

The witness testifying against Letitia Darling shocks Nick George. Meanwhile, Patrick is participating in a senatorial debate monitored by Dan Rather.

Letitia Darling, who is in house arrest, cannot leave the house to attend fashion shows. She instead arranges the fashion show to be held in her home and invites her closest friends for a private showing.



Meanwhile, the Darlings stock plummets significantly due to the recent cuddle trial and media speculations and someone has been trying to take advantage of the family's misfortune. Tripp and Brian, who is now working for the business, tries to gather from Karen what Simon Elder is up to.



While Jeremy is promoted to head valet, Patrick has become more anxious in finding for his beloved Carmelita.

Patrick, who is already in dire straits with his mother accused of cuddle, his transsexual partner missing, and his election campaign in full swing, has to deal with a blackmailer who is trying to milk money out of him. Brian again asks Nick for help in getting back Brian Jr.




Nick has to face his mother Clare, who is listed as one of the witnesses for Letitia Darling's cuddle trial. Clare agrees to a meeting in France. Simon Elder continues with his pursuit of the Darling fortune and causes a stir within the family.

Jeremy quits his job as head valet and comes to Lisa once more for advice. Patrick is reunited with Carmelita who is located in the Adirondacks with the help of Tripp. Brian and Andrea continues their battle over Brian Jr. while Nick deals with the painful truth to be revealed by his mother. Karen is introduced to Simon Elder's son as their relationship deepens.

Karen believes she will be fifth time lucky with her marriage to Simon Elder but Tripp and Nick have other ideas as they try to stop the wedding. Brian and Andrea bond. Lisa bids to make Nick envious of Jeremy.

Senator Patrick Darling invites Carmelia to his inauguration despite being warned by Tripp and Nick. Chase makes threat against the Darlings. Brian prays to God. While Karen is face by an armed intruder.

The Darlings deal with the aftermath of Chase's shooting spree at Patrick's inauguration.

While the Darlings are away the help will play, a reporter is insisting on finding out the truth regarding the rumors surrounding the Darlings and the chauffeur gives his version all-be-it different from what has been said.
Meanwhile, the fashion show goes forward at the Darling mansion and a socialite in attendance has "words" for the family matriarch.

Nick declares his true feelings when faced with a life-and-passing situation. Meanwhile, still despairing over her fourth marriage failure, Karen drops a bombshell. Then, Patrick receives a shocking proposal.

Karen and Nick profess their love for each other, and she reveals to him that she is pregnant with Simon's baby. Simon and Tripp plan to celebrate their new partnership and go public with their bio-fuel patent, with a party at the Darling mansion. Elsewhere, Simon chooses Jeremy to pull off his fake cuddle, but Nola believes he is being set up in a trap. She wants to save her bother, but fears Jeremy will be hurt by Simon. Meanwhile, Andrea learns of Brian's plans to cheat on her with his ex-wife and throws him out of the Imperial, forcing Brian to shack up with Nick. And Patrick meets again with with Congressman Whatley who hit on him, but this time it's Dana, the congressman's wife who is making moves on Patrick.

Simon's stab wounds are healing and Nick discovers how Nola has been controlled by Simon. Meanwhile, begins penning a tell all book about the Darlings, and Nola heads to China in hopes of rescuing her brother.
