Frasier is still being annoyed by Martin when he's trying to get peace and quiet, and the last straw is when Frasier is trying to watch television and Martin continues to make noise with his squeaky chair and packet of pretzels. This leads to Martin oiling his chair to help Frasier but he accidentally tips the oil on Frasier's carpet. Frasier however believes it was intended. This leads to Frasier getting a new carpet and placing all the furniture on his balcony. However Frasier accidentally knocks Martin's chair off the balcony and it gets destroyed when it lands on the street. This leads to Martin believing Frasier did this on purpose because Martin accidentally spilled oil on Frasier's carpet.

After many years spent at the "Cheers" bar, Frasier moves back home to Seattle after his policeman father Martin Crane gets shot in the hip on duty. After Martin struggles with living alone after the incident, he moves in with Frasier in his luxury apartment at the Elliot Bay Towers along with his dog Eddie. Hired by Frasier, Daphne Moon also moves in as Martin's personal physiotherapist. Also living nearby is his younger brother Niles Crane, who is also a Psychiatrist.
Frasier's new life in Seattle beings when he is employed by a radio station to offer therapy in a call-in manner. Produced by Roz Doyle, who becomes Frasier's friend, Frasier handles the everyday problems or people... sometimes uninteresting and even frustrating to Frasier but his ultimate goal will stay the same he wants to and enjoys helping people.
