On this episode, Jason receives an e-mail sent by a seventh-grade class whom are fans of the show, which asks if TAPS will ever return to the Eastern State Penitentiary. Jason and Grant thinks it through and agree that its time to return for an update investigation. While setting up the equipment, Jason remembers the last time the team was hear and remember the dark Shadowy man-like figure running down the hallway. During the investigation, Paula and Steve get a high EMF (Electro Magnetic Field) reading, but it was due to Steve pointing the instrument in the middle of an infrared camera. Also, Grant hears whispering sounds from one of the cells, and Dave Tango thinks he hears something walking in one of the rooms. Strangely enough, their wasn't much evidence this time around, and so Jason and Grant feels like the want to come back again on a latter occasion.
A customer, Paula Ogden, walks in the TAPS headquarters and talks to Donna about her new house problems, she and her boyfriend have noticed several paranormal phenomenon happening on their home like the radio spontaneously turning on and off when its not even plugged in, and one time when her boyfriend, Colin, spent the night at Paula's house he woke up cuts bleeding on his arm. At the house were TAPS is investigating, Paula shows everyone around and indicates were strange things have happened to her and her friends. In a room in the house, a TAPS member notices that all his instrument's batteries are dying; witch is in indication that spirits maybe draining energy from them. Other odd occurrences like the dropping in temperature and strange touching sensations are noted by some TAPS members. The most notable evidence found on this investigation was that, Jason and Grant were in the living room and suddenly hear some strange voices and out of knower Grant's flashlight got smacked of his hands, and after this on the same place they get a large EMF (Electro Magnetic Field) reading.. Some EVPs were found, but none were conclusive enough to be brought as evidence.
They conclude that there's paranormal activity in the house, and could be a human type of haunting. Keith Johnson, a holy man, blesses the house. And Jason and Grant decide that they will continue investigating Paula's case, to see what additional help they can offer her in the future.
Ghost Hunters is an hour documentary-type show that follows a team of Paranormal investigators in the field of researching ghostly activities. The show follows a group of paranormal investigators from a well known organization/society known as TAPS (The Atlantic Paranormal Society), whose founding members, Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson are also plumbers by day, working for Roto-Rooter in New England.
The show's/TAPS format goes as follows: The team either gets contacted or are drawn to investigate a location. They then go to that location and gather information about the location's history and past claims of hauntings, and try to debunk and/or recreate most/all of the claims, they also record all types of situations in all types of ways, from thermal imaging, EMF detection, still pictures, to EVP recordings. Then TAPS members analyze what they recorded and what they found, and then reveal their findings to Jason and Grant. Jason and Grant then meet with the client and go over any evidence that TAPS managed to find. Grant and Jason then tell them whether they believe the location is haunted or not, and if the location is haunted they try to help them anyway they can, from blessing the house to bringing a demonologist to exorcise the location'.
