Cameron is suspicious of a stabbing victim's boyfriend, only to discover he is hiding injuries of his own. Nicky has to step in when her mother receives threatening phone calls after failing to pay her debts.

It's the day of Sacha's groundbreaking transplant operation. As he is still overcoming a bereavement, Max wonders whether Sacha is fit to carry out the procedure.

Cameron plans to give Chloe his mother's necklace as a Valentine's Day gift - but first he needs to get it back from Nicky. She has problems of her own - she's pawned Bernie's necklace to pay her mother's debts, but is still being harassed for more money, forcing her to put her life and career on the line. Jac makes plans for her first unsupervised visit from Emma, but things soon get out of control.

Ric is determined to do anything he can to help the relative of a former patient, despite the AAU being filled to capacity and the hospital being in the midst of a nursing crisis. Essie realises that she has to decide where she stands with Sasha when Ben makes a grand gesture. Kian returns from Holby from Canada to discover that Jac has been taking a step back from her work, and resolves to force her out of her comfort zone.
