The designers are excited when they learn that they will be designing an outfit for a fashion icon. Their curiosity is peaked when to find out what the challenge is they go on a field trip. Ending up in front of the Toys R'Us flag ship store in New York, they soon learned that the fashion icon they would be designing for was non other then the ageless Barbie, specifically for the My Scene Barbie. Each designer received a doll to take as a muse while they worked. While Kara was flinging her doll around on the way out of the store, she lost the hat for her doll in-between the escalator and the wall. Deciding that it was important to her to have it she lost important sketching time to go back to the store and find it.
Half way through the challenge the designers are treated to another surprise. Lily Martinez, from Matel comes to Parsons to let them know that the winner of this challenge will have dolls made and sold with their winning design, as well as their name and picture on the side of the box!
