The glitz and glamour of Hollywood comes to the ballroom as Strictly Come Dancing glides into movie week.Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman host as the fabulous 14 couples get ready for their close-ups and perform routines inspired by some of the greatest films of all time. All want to impress the judges, but they need the support of the viewers too. The show opens with a spectacular group performance from the entire cast as they pay tribute to one of the biggest movies of recent times - La La Land. Who will prove a smash hit at the box office, and who will flop on the dance floor?.
The show pairs a number of celebrities with professional ballroom dancers who each week compete against each other to impress a panel of judges and the viewing public in order to survive potential elimination. Through telephone voting, viewers vote for whom they would like to stay, the results of the poll being combined with the ranking of the panel of judges.
The show is broadcast live on BBC One on Saturday evenings, and is presented by Bruce Forsyth and Tess Daly. The judging panel consists mainly of Bruno Tonioli, Len Goodman and Craig Revel Horwood.
