The boys are back!

In the first episode of a brand new season, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May make a pilgrimage to Detroit to drive three highly tuned muscle cars on the deserted streets of this once-great motor city. Also in this show, Jeremy drives the super-lightweight, super-hardcore, 789 horsepower McLaren Senna.

In a special episode, Clarkson, Hammond and May clatter across Colombia in a Jeep Wrangler, a Chevrolet Silverado pick-up and a Fiat Panda 4x4 as they attempt to capture high quality images of interesting animals to be used as Amazon's new screensavers, encountering epic scenery, extreme peril, weird hobbies and even some actual animals along the way.

Jeremy Clarkson heads to Sweden to test the new Lamborghini Urus against driver Abbie Eaton. James May visits the Eboladrome in the Alpine A110 and Richard Hammond profiles Scottish racing driver Jim Clark.

Jeremy, Richard and James head to Chongqing, China to see if a Mercedes S 600, an old BMW 750iL and a Cadillac STS have the chops to cut it in the Chinese city. Fire drones have also been hinted at and-of course-James' outstanding fashion choices.

Jeremy, Richard and James find three classic cars which haven't appreciate much compared to their more valuable brothers and sisters-an Alfa Romeo GTV6, a Lancia Gamma coupé and a Fiat X1/9.

Campervanning has never been a favoured way of staying somewhere for Jeremy, Richard and James. But it's been forced upon them by their producer, who gives them a lorry armed with bunk beds and sends them to Nevada for a while.

Richard tests the new Aston Martin V8 Vantage, James looks back at the cars of the Apollo astronauts, and Jeremy performs a series of elaborate tests to prove that the Citroen C3 Aircross is spacious, practical and better than an elephant.

Jeremy, Richard, and James love hot hatchbacks-and are excited to test the newest versions from Volkswagen, Ford, and Toyota. Hammond and May take two icons to the Eboladrome, the Lamborghini Countach (the same Countach featured in the new Top Gear studio) and the Ferrari Testarossa.

Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May take an Aston Martin DBS, a Bentley Continental GT and a BMW M850i for an epic drive between the salty Black Sea in Georgia and the fresh water Caspian Sea in Azerbaijan in order to find the best grand touring car for a fish enthusiast.

In this episode, Jeremy Clarkson tests two modernized versions of classic Lancias, one a thorough update of the Delta Integrale, the other a completely new take on the legendary Stratos. Meanwhile, James May looks back at the incredible story of the Porsche 917, from its early days as an unpromising widow maker to its evolution into one of the most successful racing cars of all time. Also in this show, Richard Hammond joins Clarkson at Stansted airport as the pair attempt to speed up the journey from check-in to security to the actual aeroplane by devising two radical takes on the idea of motorized hand luggage.

Jeremy, Richard and James are dropped into the wilderness of Mongolia and told to await a delivery.

Jeremy has a tearful farewell, as this is the last studio produced episode, and any future episodes will be on location 'specials'.

Rumours persist that the Ford Mondeo is on borrowed time and when it dies there will be no direct replacement - as is happening in America - where the medium-sized Ford saloon is already on passing row.
