Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson welcomes nine strangers as they move into an upscale Panamanian penthouse together, each with hopes of being crowned "The Hero". With up to a million dollars at stake, the contestants quickly realize that this will be no ordinary contest, as they must climb and hang from skyscrapers, navigate dark underground bunkers and face tough moral dilemmas. In the end, there can only be one hero, and America will vote on the winner. In the War Room, a sudden change of heart shocks the group.
At times during an illustrious professional wrestling career, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson played the part of the hero. He was physically, mentally and morally tested on many occasions, and it's those experiences that he'll draw on as the host (and executive producer) of this competition series.
Johnson's goal is to find a true American hero, and to do so he challenges a group of nine ordinary individuals to face extraordinary situations. Throughout the series, Johnson serves as mentor and motivator, encouraging the contestants to reach far beyond their personal limits.
In the end, the one player as determined by viewer votes who overcomes obstacles he or she never thought possible walks away with up to a million dollars and the title of "The Hero".
