Todd tries talking his way out of a troublesome situation, and as is his way, makes things worse.

On a business trip to Leeds, Todd and Dave take a diversion to Alice's favorite restaurant, where, in an effort to get back in her good graces, Todd tries to talk the chef into hiring her. But in his typical way, Todd embellishes a bit too much.

Under the influence of morphine, a hospitalized Todd mistakes a teddy bear for Alice's ex-boyfriend, whom he thinks might be trying to reconcile with her.

A startling revelation throws Todd into an identity crisis, so he goes to commiserate at a local bar, where he gets involved in a bachelorette party.

Todd's escapades land him in prison, specifically in the wing for sex offenders, and he gets chummy with his cellmate. Meanwhile, Alice goes on the lam when the police spot her with the unauthorized liquor license given to her by Todd.

Todd is in for the fight of his life as he goes on trial with only Brent to defend him, and the friendly witnesses he lines up to testify do more harm than good. Meanwhile, Alice uncovers evidence that could clear their names.
