David insists that Vic and the Strike Team take some uniform cops along as support, including Danny and Julien, when they bust an Armenian gang's drug buy. The Strike Team arrives as one of the Armenians is assassinated and proceed to remove the "pink" coke from the scene while the Unis bring out the surviving thugs. Julien witnesses Vic dividing the confiscated drugs into two and hand off the second bag to Shane. After much deliberation, Julien approaches David with his suspicions about Vic and the evidence. Claudette and Dutch interrogate the Armenians for more information on their drug connections. After storing the drugs in the lock box of his SUV, Shane drives to his girlfriend's, and later he discovers the SUV has been stolen. David and the Strike Team race to find the missing SUV and the drugs. The race ends at a dead junkie's apartment where Vic and the boys are able to get rid of all but one brick of the coke before David arrives and must decide whether to search Vic in front of fellow officers.
The Shield breaks the conventional formula of the cop genre. It plays out in a tough, morally ambiguous world in which the line between good and bad is crossed ever day. The series focuses on the tension between a group of corrupt but effective cops and a captain torn between bringing them down and advancing his own political ambitions.
The Shield stars rogue cop "Det. Vic Mackey", leader of the elite Strike Team unit, who is effective at eliminating crime but who operates under his own set of rules. "Captain David Aceveda", the young precinct head who doesn't like Mackey's tactics and wants to bust him off the force. And "Det. Claudette Wyms", a veteran detective who understands Mackey and knows how to play both sides of the fence.
