The third set of hopefuls audition in front of the judges in a closed room enviroment hoping to gain a place in the next phase of the competition where they will have to perform at Wembley Arena in front of a live audience. Kingsland are first up and end up causing the judges concern about their mix mash of styles but they still put them through. Next up are Brick City and Rough Copy who also manage to impress and make it through. Liddia and Ryan fail to impress any of the judges though. Giles Potter manages to impress though and sails through. After Lydia Lucy performs both Sharon and Louis believe that she would be more suited to being in a group but she still makes it through. Nicholas McDonald leaves the judges split about him after he performs. Stephanie Woods returns having performed on the show six years ago and made it through to judges's houses. She ends up receiving a little criticism from both Gary and Nicole though but still sails through to the next phase of the competition. Samantha Harper, J-Koda and Aaron Dale all fail to impress. James McDonald and Louise Harper both attempt to impress the judges after they perform a couple of old classics. Next of Kin are last up and receive a very emotional response from the judges.
Each X Factor judge is in charge of a different section of singers on the show. The judges do not know what section of the competition they will be in charge of until the audition process has finished. Each judge then has to pick four acts to take forward to the live section of the show. Each week the two acts with the lowest amount of public votes have to sing again in a final showdown after which the judges decide who should be eliminated. Once there are only five acts left remaining it becomes left to the public to decide who should go.
