Annie continues to suffer through her mother's recent leukemia diagnosis. Annie then decides to go to Arizona to visit them and see what is going on with them. Meanwhile, Eric volunteers for a charity work, but he's unable to do it at the last minute. Matt then volunteers to do it, but his dating habits get him into trouble with the organization he is doing charity for. Also, Mary decides to call it a quits with Jeff while Lucy has her first real date with her classmate Jimmy Moon. Lastly, when Annie returns home with her parents, they decide to stay with her and the rest of the family so that they could spend some more time with them - which unfortunately will be the last for Annie's mom, Jenny.

While in the Great Link ("Broken Link"), Odo suspected that the Changelings were hiding information from him. What he was able to gleen from the Link allowed him to realize that Klingon Chancellor Gowron is actually a Changeling. Starfleet requests that Sisko reveal Gowron for who he truly is and put an end to the hostile actions of the Klingon Empire.

When Xena tries to help the centaurs protect a sacred stone that contains their evil, she encounters someone from her past... her son.

Mitch judges a beachside beauty contest, but is tempted by two of the contestants, who both vie for his vote. Caroline's acting teacher puts her relationship with Logan in jeopardy. Logan designs a new rescue vehicle. Donna is blackmailed by a secret from her past.

Frank is getting one of his plays produced. When he gets an out of country assignment, he leaves Murphy in charge of looking after his interests in the production. Busy with her own story, Murphy takes a hands off approach to the production, leaving the director to make his own decisions. The director, decides on a major casting change; Murphy finds out about it, just before the curtain rises.
