The players are split into two tribes: Brandon Quinton, "Doc" Carl Bilancione, Frank Garrison, Kim Powers, Linda Spencer, Lindsay Richter, Silas Gaither and Teresa "T-Bird" Cooper on the Samburu tribe (wearing red), and Clarence Black, Ethan Zohn, Diane Ogden, Jessie Camacho, Kelly Goldsmith, Kim Johnson, Lex van den Berghe and "Big" Tom Buchanan on the Boran tribe (wearing gold). Frank's bosiness gets him on the wrong side of his tribemates, while Diane and Clarence cause a major blow-up in the Boran camp when they eat a can of beans while the others are away collecting water. As the Survivors make an unpleasant discovery about the state of their watering hole, and Samburu manages to light a fire with the aid of a telescope, wild animals begin to surface, and Boran loses the first African Immunity Challenge, an obstacle course involving fire, sending them to Tribal Council, where Diane is voted out of Africa as the first casualty of the game. The tribe has spoken.

Monica and Chandler leave for their honeymoon, and find themselves luckless; Phoebe and Joey try to gain entry to the newlyweds' apartment; Rachel tries to tell Ross about her pregnancy.

Grissom investigates a possible suicide at a high-profile construction site. Against the wishes of the Sheriff, Grissom pushes to get at the truth of the matter-he thinks the suicide was actually a homicide, and uses theories on electrocution to look for his killer.



Meanwhile, Nick and Catherine take on a case with little more than angora fibers to follow. A teenage boy dies while in session with his female psychologist, and traces of angora on his underwear make them believe the psychologist may be practicing very unconventional methods of "therapy."

Jack is puffed up with paternal pride as he escorts his son Elliot to a junior high school dance but not before he coerces Grace into posing as Elliot's date -- which only revives her own tortured memories of rejection from school dances many years before. Elsewhere, Karen has great fun at her lawyer Will's expense when she continues to capriciously summon him for bogus 'emergencies' -- that is, until she really needs him.

Malucci and a female paramedic become trapped in an elevator with a man who is vomiting blood. Malucci saves the man's life and celebrates by having sex with the paramedic in an ambulance, which ultimately results in his dismissal by Weaver. Abby move's out of Luka's apartment and accidentally breaks his fish tank on the way out. Chen treats an abandoned infant with a birthmark in the shape of the sign of the Virgin Mary. Meanwhile, the strain of motherhood may be catching up with Corday when she falls asleep during surgery.
