With Sandy's expertise in the Bridal Shop industry, Mosaic sold 27 dresses for $12,788.94; whereas Apex sold $1060.47 out of 2 dresses. As their reward, Mosaic was able to purchase $50,000 worth of diamond jewelry for themselves. And for the third week in a row, Apex ended up in the boardroom, where Chris was fired.

Grissom is called to a murder of a 17-year-old in a casino penthouse. Sofia Curtis (Louise Lombard) joins him in his research, she normally works in the day-shift. The entire team gets involved when its discovered that a kidnapping took place along with the murder.

During the first day of school for the gang, Seth and Ryan continue to try to win back the affection of Summer and Marissa. Hailey informs Jimmy about her decision to move away from Newport and Jimmy makes a drastic decision in order to stay with her. Meanwhile, Sandy explains Caleb's legal troubles to Julie, who proceeds to threaten Sandy.

Grace comes home from a great date and listens to a staticy message she's received from Leo. She thinks Leo is telling her happy anniversary and that he wants to meet on the top of the Peninsula Hotel as they had always planned. Grace hides the message from Will, but when Will learns about it, he decides to take Grace to the Berkshires to get her mind off of Leo. Meanwhile, Karen and Jack try to set each other up. However, after Karen gets paired with her gardener and Jack is set up with a straight, married guy, Jack and Karen decide they are the best people for each other.

In an episode shown in real-time, the final 44 minutes of the life of alcoholic ex-con Charlie Metcalf (Emmy winner Ray Liotta) play out as Kovac, Pratt and Sam struggle to save his life. Charlie comes to the ER with a stomach ailment that quickly grows more serious. Slowly deteriorating, he confronts a series of doctors and specialists, and the realization that he is dying. As we learn his history, he tries to connect with his estranged son. Meanwhile, Kovac confronts Pratt about his attitude, and we see how each is touched by Charlies story.

To find a missing young mother who was recruited as a drug mule, Samantha goes undercover and moves into the apartment of the missing woman to lure the drug trafficker who recruited the young woman who was in desperate need of money.
