Joey is nominated for a Daytime Soap Award for his death scene on Days of Our Lives. (For the record, he was stabbed.) He is also presenting the award for Best Supporting Actress, and a problem arises when his inability to correctly pronounce one of the nominees' names leads to his saying the wrong name entirely. Meanwhile, Gina struggles with the fact that she is dressed unlike herself for the event.

The 20 new Survivors competing for a million dollars, forced to brave the wild islands of Palau (in the series' tenth installment, titled Survivor: Palau), begin their journey unlike any other season of Survivor - with no answers concerning tribes, camp locations, or what the heck is going on! Two of the competitors win the first immunity of the game when host Jeff Probst tells the contestants that the first two people who make it to shore, one man and one woman, will be awarded with individual immunity. This immunity proves vital, as the next day, the two immunity bearers (Jolanda Jones and Ian Rosenberger) start off a schoolyard pick as "team captains," each picking a person of the opposite sex to join their tribe. This continues until only two (Jonathan Libby and Wanda Shirk) are left, and both of them, without a tribe, are sent home. Upon Jonathan and Wanda's departure, Probst hands out the buffs to the remaining 18 castaways. Jolanda's tribe is Ulong (wearing blue), and joining her are Bobby Jon Drinkard, Stephenie LaGrossa, Jeff Wilson, Kim Mullen, James Miller, Ashlee Ashby, Ibrehem Rahman and Angie Jakusz. Ian's tribe is Koror (wearing brown), and joining him are Katie Gallagher, Tom Westman, Janu Tornell, Gregg Carey, Jenn Lyon, Coby Archa, Caryn Groedel and Willard Smith. At the first challenge, Ulong loses their best chance to make fire, flint, to Koror, and is also sentenced to attend Tribal Council, where Jolanda, apparently too strong of a woman, is voted out of the tribe.

The job this week is to create a new business with an airstream trailer, and take in the most money. Project Managers are found in Tana and Bren, who have varrying degrees of success leading their teams. While Tana struggles to find a willing casting director for a service, her risk pays off big, and Bren, along with trying to operate a spa, has trouble with keeping his teammates, especially Michael and Stephanie, from fighting. In the end, Networth brings in more money than Magna, ensuring a win and giving Networth team members $20,000 to spend in a jewelry store. Magna, meanwhile, is given orders to report to the boardroom, where Michael is fired for being too lazy and not assertive enough.

When a major Las Vegas player is found dead, Ecklie orders both teams to investigate the case. The man who had secrets on everyone in Vegas had a very big one of his own.

While Rebecca is mourning the death of her father, Kirsten becomes increasingly impatient with Sandy's absence, leading her to visit Rebecca. Meanwhile, Marissa hangs out with Alex's friends and Caleb seeks proof that Lindsay is his daughter.

Grace drags Will along to keep her in check during her first date with Nick only to leave a heated Will at his table for one. Meanwhile, Karen hatches a wild plan to get Jack a date with Aaron, the neighborhood bird enthusiast, only to ruffle some feathers when things don't quite go as planned.

Ellie Shore is a mother of three who has a stroke and cannot speak. While she is treated, we are inside her head, hearing her thoughts. Wendall dumps Carter on their three-month anniversary, since he's clearly still attached to Kem. Neela and Ray treat three kids with a suspicious father. Morris has applied for Chief Resident. Luka and Carter want Pratt for the job, but he's not interested. Dubenko wants to write up a case with Abby, but is he interested in taking her on a date instead? Luka and Sam discuss kids.

When a spoiled heiress in her early twenties is kidnapped, the team has to work against the clock to save Chelsea, who is being featured on a website giving fans the option to choose whether she lives or dies. As they continue to investigate her disappearance, the team learns that Chelsea had finally been starting to grow up, but she may not have time to enjoy her new life.
