On the planet Persephone the crew contact their old "friend" Badger the ruthless crime lord to transport some goods on behalf of a local lord. While at a ball to arrange a transport job with the lord, Mal defends Inara's honor when her current customer insults her. By local custom he unintentionally challenges her date, Atherton Wing, to a duel.

When Sabrina is caught by the office webcam using her powers, she magically enters Leonard's computer to destroy the evidence and meets up with the animated characters Shaggy and Scooby Doo. While in the computer, Leonard alters what he believes is a photo of Sabrina and she reemerges looking like a voluptuous cartoon siren.

The body of a battered young boy found in a luggage compartment of an airport shuttle bus sends the detectives to his guardian who was discovered to be a pedophile only to find his corpse in bed with his genitals removed. The subsequent investigation leads them to a travel agency specializing in exotic trips for sexual predators.

In his travels Jack comes to a tavern and a crying tavern owner. Then shadowy figures attack but Jack discovers they are teenagers, the 'Children of Aku', under a magical musical spell. Knocking one out and following them in disguise, jack finds their rave and a sinister DJ playing the music. The DJ spots Jack and a fight ensues. Jack takes the fight directly to the DJ who is his near-equal. When Jack gets the upper hand the DJ dons a speaker-battlesuit but Jack regains his lost sword at the last minute and triumphs, freeing the children.

Ash and Misty each emerge victorious from arduous bouts only to be paired against one another in the next round. As these two square off, Team Rocket plots to steal the tournament's prize using reverse psychology: they leave an anonymous tip with the local police force that the prize is in danger. This tip, Jessie reasons, will lead to heightened security, which will in turn lead to overconfidence and carelessness, effectually making it easier for Jessie and James to sneak in and claim their prize. With Ash already in strong position, Misty accidentally deploys Psyduck to face his Kingler. In a surprise turn, however, Psyduck launches a Confuse attack that wins the match for Misty. Ash takes his place in the stands and cheers for Misty as she begins her next round. Meanwhile Team Rocket watches in shock as-contrary to Jessie's plan-not only is the police presence at the event fortified, but the police show no sign of growing overconfident.
