Serenity continues to travel through space conducting illegal runs across the star system, which is under the control of The Alliance. A powerful and fearsome mobster named Adelei Niska demands that the crew of Serenity pull a train robbery. The train is carrying medical supplies for a community, and Reynolds and Zoe get held on suspicion. They get free with Inara's help but realize they were tricked and try to return Niska's money. His henchman isn't too happy, but Mal "persuades" the next guy to take the money back. Meanwhile, two blue-handed, black-suited operatives close in on River.

This episode concludes I Fall To Pieces! before the credits. Sabrina joins Morgan and Roxie on a trip to visit MTV to meet "Total Request Live" host Carson Daly and interview the rock band Course of Nature after Morgan wins a writing contest with the ultra-hip Scorch music magazine. But after Morgan admits she submitted Sabrina's writing, Sabrina turns it around and captures a job at the magazine. Meanwhile, with her aunts moving back to the Other Realm, Sabrina begins a new chapter of her life when she, Roxie and Morgan move into the house.

John awakens to find himself stranded on an island off Seattle. His uncanny abilities are soon apparent to him when he is rescued by Asian fishermen and begins to speak the sailors' language fluently. When he sees a news report about a kidnapped girl, the color-blind Doe realizes that he is seeing the child in color. Sure that she holds the key to the mystery of who he is, Doe is eager to find her and offers his assistance to the skeptical police.

Monk reluctantly goes on vacation with Sharona and Benjy, but ends up witnessing a murder... except the body disappears.

Ash and friends discover an island on which the Pidgey population-long protected by environmental regulation and free from predators-has grown to unusually stout proportions and virtually abandoned any desire for flight. There Ash and friends find one Pidgey, however, in which the desire to soar through the heavens burns more fiercely than even in Pidgey from beyond this island. Anxious to see this Pidgey achieve its dreams, the young trainers join with the Pidgey's trainer and follow the Pokémon in a jet-assisted hot air balloon, tracking its flight as the Pidgey climbs higher into the stratosphere than any Pokémon in history.

Rogue and Wolverine duck a squad of soldiers when the nationwide alert goes out against mutants, while Storm and Beast go into a meeting of Congress to defend themselves. Meanwhile Juggernaut goes on a rampage and the X-Men feel obliged to take him down.

Lara begins her court trial and suffers flashbacks and the bad memories associated with her assault. New SHO locum Heather Lincoln arrives and doesn't go unnoticed by Simon, who gives her a guided tour â- Colette teases â??Does the tour include the cold showers-. Later Dillon unwittingly starts to undress in the staff room, unaware Heather is enjoying the view. Heather, is quick to forget about a drink with Simon after shift, and is about to proposition Dillon, when Simon walks in. Heather gets Duffy's back up by bluffing her way through a patient's case and getting Harry on her side â- and Duffy becomes more unhappy when her mother is brought in to the department, seriously ill with breast cancer. Finn is unhappy when he finds he is named in Comfort's divorce papers.
