The eight exam participants reach Tenrou Island, where they are each required to take one of eight routes that will lead to the next stage of the exam. Lucy and Cana take a route where they are required to fight against Freed and Bickslow in a battle that will determine which pair will be allowed to advance. Lucy and Cana fear they stand no chance against them, but Freed throws the battle by pretending to be weak against women in swimsuits, allowing Cana to defeat him. Meanwhile, Natsu takes the route he believes will lead him to fight against Erza, but is ecstatic to find Gildarts waiting for him instead.

On their way to Nimbasa City, Ash and friends come across a group of Roggenrola who are being targeted by Team Rocket. When Team Rocket reveals their plan for the Pokémon they decide to stop them and save the Pokémon.

Matt Smith is reunited with an old friend as James Corden returns as Craig, the Doctor's housemate. The pair discuss the merits of filming at night in a department store with baby co-stars. Radio 1 DJ Greg James also provides an insight into his cameo appearance, and the winners of the Script to Screen contest are given a chance to meet the Time Lord himself on set.

The successful acts that have made it through the auditions travel to London for the boot camp stage of the competition. All of the acts are put through their paces and some fair better than others when they are set three different challenges.

Annie and Chloe return to the hospital as Chloe is being treated for a blood clot on the leg and Annie believes that she's using again. When dealer Felix shows up, it puts Chloe's safety and the future of the clinic under threat. The appearance of an estranged brother at a funeral ends in violence and a long-held family secret ends up being revealed.
