16 year old Joan Girardi is approached by someone claiming to be God. He gives her a mission, get a job. Will Girardi, Joan's dad and new chief of police for Arcadia, is trying to solve the case of a serial killer.

The 9th season begins where last season left off, with Harm, Mac, Webb & Gunny still in Paraguay searching for the terrorist Sadik. Their search is complicated by Harm's feelings being tangled up which drove him to resign his commission & rush to South America in the first place.

On the first anniversary of George's death, Rube grants her the day off. Motivated to get her afterlife on track again, she returns to Happy Time to ask for her old job back. But after being bluntly rejected, George pouts through yet another drab day...until the universal powers-that-be intervene and inspire her to try to live her afterlife to the fullest.

Ash's battle against Gary is only just starting but his Blastoise is a tough opponent.

A further mutated Spyke, now armored and able to throw flaming spikes, now protects mutants, including Magma and Cannonball who are walking out of a library when Duncan pulls up and tries to attack them. Xavier is concerned and sends a reluctant Wolverine to talk to him, to no effect. Callisto is also concerned that Spyke's efforts will bring down the wrath of mutant-haters on the other Morlocks who can't protect themselves. Her predictions come true when Spyke's efforts set off further anti-mutant hysteria.
Spyke protects a young mutant named Dorian Leach, who it is revealed to have the power to suppress energy - electrical, mutant, whatever. The Morlocks and the X-Men come to Spyke's aid, and defeat Duncan and his men. Dorian shows up and temporarily negates everyone's powers. Duncan is arrested and Spyke returns to the underground. Meanwhile, Apocalypse creates a second sphere in China which resist all efforts to destroy it, and Nick Fury is ordered to free Trask and have him reinit

Comfort sees the image of a child; Simon goes for a job at a pharmaceutical company.
