Buffy catches up with Angel, who has come to Sunnydale with the intention of helping Buffy in her impending battle. After Buffy refuses his help, he heads back to LA, but not before handing Buffy an ancient amulet which he says will be of help to her in battle. Buffy then heads back home, where she and her friends prepare to lead the potential slayers into the Hellmouth waging one final battle against the First Evil and his army of vampires.

As Rory's graduation day approaches, the Gilmore girls plan their long-awaited summer backpacking trip across Europe, even as Lorelai faces the possibility that the recent fire will force the owners of the Independence Inn to sell the building. Rory takes matters into her own hands when she discovers that Lorelai is making a great personal sacrifice to pay for the Yale tuition. Richard and Emily present Rory with a lavish graduation gift, and everyone is touched by Rory's moving valedictory speech. Meanwhile, Luke has second thoughts about a summer cruise with his new girlfriend.

The sibling rivalry between Cate and Maggie (Cybill Shepherd) comes to a boiling point when Maggie gets a sexy, new makeover and gives Bridget a water bra as a gift. Meanwhile tensions between the Hennessy sisters mount when Kerry and Kyle begin dating, while Bridget's popularity takes a nosedive after she dissed her friends for Donny (Thad Luckinbill); and Paul becomes concerned when he finds an empty pregnancy test kit.

A sense of foreboding surrounds Smallville as Clark must choose between staying with Lana and his family or fulfilling his destiny to rule the Earth. Lex and Helen prepare for their marriage, and Chloe considers Lionel's offer to investigate Clark.

America has narrowed it down to two, and now Clay and Ruben each have three performances to prove they are worthy of the title American Idol!.

Jack uses Sherry to lure Kingsley out into the open, but Kingsley suspects a set-up and lays his own trap.

Palmer's attorney finds evidence involving Kingsley and convinces Mike to release Palmer from custody. Palmer and his cabinet gather to watch as Sherry meets with Kingsley. Mike orders Chappelle to reinstate Tony and Michelle.
Jack sends Sherry in for the meeting with Kingsley, but his mounting heart troubles cause problems for him at the crucial moment.

Jim and Andy are going to Vegas on a business trip and ask Dana to join them, since they need an extra help and she happens to be their "rabbit's foot" on gambling. Cheryl decides to join them and blackmails Jim when he says no at first. Cheryl has been secretly in touch with Jim's estranged sister Roxanne and plans for them to meet in Vegas. When they get there, Jim is not pleased to see his sister and tells Cheryl that no matter what she said he's sure she hasn't changed at all. Roxanne says she needs 2.000 dollars to start her business, which Jim takes as the first step on her plan, but Roxanne won't take either his or Cheryl's money. Instead, she gets it from her new husband: Andy, who has fallen head over heels for her and married her while the rest of the family was watching a show.

Andy is upset because no one approves or believes in his marriage to Roxanne. Jim goes to talk to her and walks in on her packing to run off with her ex boyfriend. He tries to stop her, unsuccessfully. Jim and Cheryl try to break the news to Andy before the business presentation, but he's so upset that he breaks down in tears on stage. While consoling Andy, Jim forgets about the foam hose and foam just floods the stage. Jim and Cheryl stroll in Las Vegas, glad that Andy is finally recovering from Roxanne and glad that their trip is over.

In the final episode of the series 8th year turns out to leave fans of the show with facing yet another long summer of anticipation & speculation. When word reaches Washington, DC that Webb & Mac are missing, Harm insists on leaving for S. America to search for them, even if it means resigning his commission.

Roz tries to train the woefully incompetent Noel as Frasier's new producer as she prepares to leave KACL. She becomes increasingly melancholy about the possibility of leaving Frasier, and bristles upon learning of his new relationship with Julia. During a farewell dinner with her co-workers, Roz becomes concerned by the obvious closeness between Frasier and Julia. She suddenly announces that she is turning down the program director job and staying at KACL. At Cafe Nervosa, Julia tries to call Frasier's cell phone while he is in the restroom. Roz sees that she is the caller and complains, and Mrs. Moon answers the phone and pretends that she is some woman fooling around with Frasier. Julia uncovers the truth, and Mrs. Moon immediately gives up Roz. Julia confronts Roz, who orders her to stay away because she doesn't think she's good for Frasier. Julia notes that Roz seems extremely jealous, and they argue. Roz tries to get Martin to side with her against Julia. She finally talks to Frasier and pleads with him to dump Julia. Frasier grows angry at her for interfering in his relationship, and says that it is none of her business. Roz becomes increasingly agitated and emotional, and finally orders Frasier to choose between them, threatening to leave his life forever. Frasier chooses Julia. Roz quits her job and takes the program director position. Meanwhile, Niles and Daphne discuss the possibility of having children, but realize that this cannot happen while her mother is still living with them. They ask Mrs. Moon to leave, and she prepares to return to England. Daphne holds her ground when her mother tries to lay a guilt trip on her; but Niles realizes that, in spite of their frequent arguments, the two don't really want to be on separate continents. He agrees to help Mrs. Moon find an apartment in Seattle.
