Casey is thrown off his game when the agents are sent to China to extricate a compromised spy who happens to be his former flame and partner, Linda. When she reveals that she's on the trail of a major terrorist, the team decides to stay and finish the job.

The final set of auditions take place as the hopefuls have one last chance to impress. The judges then have to decide which 40 acts who have made it through from the auditions will then go forward to the live semi finals. When they judges cant agree some of the acts are forced to perform again before the final 40 are revealed.

Janet and Rachel are called in to investigate the case of a pregnant girl who was killed whilst she was in her bedroom. Rachel's love life ends up taking a turn for the worse, Janet receives a telephone call that ends up reawakening a past tragedy.
