Avon finds out about Orlando's inquiries about branching out into "dirty" business, and makes it clear to Orlando that the plan will never happen.

Meanwhile, Carrie avoids her editor by all means thinking she's going to get fired, but turns out he just wanted to tell her she's been offered a book deal. Hesitant, Carrie is asked to write an introduction and answer the question: "is there hope for single women-. To help her figure out the answer, Charlotte takes her to a positivism course, where she learns that although seemingly a positivist, Charlotte is a big negativist. More than that, she's got a broken heart. And Miranda has to handle a request she can't deny: Steve asks Brady to be baptized. He even brings in his mother for the ceremony, and Miranda asks Carrie to be the baby's godmother.

While helping to track down a runaway, Jill, who is involved with drugs, Johnny is exposed to a drug that causes him to start getting weird (weirder than usual) visions. He insists on trying to find Jill, despite the concerns of Bruce and Sarah. Confusing matters further is that Jill's boyfriend is in trouble with his supplier. The boyfriend gets killed and Jill and Johnny go on the run. In the final showdown, Johnny manages to fight past his hallucinations and knock the drug dealer off a high ledge, while Jill is reunited with her mother.
