Single father Jason Mesnick, appeared on The Bachelorette in 2008 and was spurned by DeAnna Pappas. Now it\'s his turn at finding a mate as he chooses between 25 ladies in the 13th edition of The Bachelor. Jason welcomes the women in the same in L.A. which DeAnna was introduced to her choice of men, and hosts an introductory cocktail party. This season has a new addition, the contestants each get to vote each week for the lady they\'d like to see leave, but it\'ll be Jason who gets the final say. At the evenings end only 15 will be remaining.
Jason and the remaining 15 survivors from the season premiere gather for a pool party at the mansion before he and one lucky lady head of to the Walt Disney Concert Hall for a concert performance by Robin Thicke (and maybe a first kiss). A second bachelorette is headed to Malibu Beach, and a third will receive a ride in a blimp, and eight others go to a Hollywood boutique and another pool party above the Sunset Strip before one contestant eliminates herself and a pair are sent home during the rose ceremony.
There are 12 remaining ladies, in which 10 will be going on a date with Jason. Eight of the women will accompany him to the Keep-A-Breast Foundation, while two others get a one-on-one date. (One is a single mom who brings her kid along to Legoland, and the other takes a helicopter ride over Hoover Dam and a private concert with Kate Voegele). One of the dates ends horribly, while another runs off during the rose ceremony. At the end of the day, the field is reduced to nine.
The remaining nine ladies will be competing against each other in a singing contest with the winner receiving a one-on-one date with Jason, who will bring the other six contestants to the set of The Guiding Light and meet the cast members Bradford Anderson and Kirsten Rose, where one rose will be awarded. And two others will get a ride in his Bentley for a evening of dining and dancing, where another rose is awarded. The shows end finds 3 more beauties turned into pumpkins as they are dismissed.
The remaining five women are invited back to Seattle to Jason\'s home. For one lady it\'ll be an evening on his boat, another receives a seaplane ride and a fondue dinner, and the remaining three will receive a ride on the ferry. Some of the girls will also have a radio interview where they spill some secrets, and Jason receives marriage pointers from the DJ\'s, married couple Jackie and Bender. The rose ceremony finds one more lady going home and the remaining four preparing to have Jason visit their homes.
Jason wants to meet the final four bachlorette\'s families and makes plans to stop by each of their hometowns, but must settle for one contestant\'s best friend. Jason learns a secret at the other stops and meets one family who is quirky and conservative which is opposite of his own. One dad seems a tad skeptical of this whole process. Back in L.A., the lady without a rose heads off in tears.
Jason takes the remaining three women to New Zealand for a day of sightseeing in both a helicopter and a boat, plus bungee jumping on overnight dates, in which the Fantasy Suite comes into play and the word \"love\' is mentioned. But the fantasy ends for one more lady at the end of the rose ceremony.
