Sookie and Lafayette deal with the aftermath of Tara's encounter with Debbie Pelt. The Vampire Authority makes a call on Bill and Eric. Alcide and Sam are faced with an angry werewolf pack.

Tara re-emerges. Pam remembers when she was human and when Eric first came into her life. Eric and Bill get together with the ancient vampire Salome, a member of the Authority.

Bill and Eric negotiate with the Vampire Authority to allow them to keep their lives. Jason meets up with a former high school teacher. Sookie goes looking for Tara.

Pam tries to be a good maker for her new progeny, but wonders what's to become of the relationship with her own. Meanwhile, Bill and Eric try to find out who else knew about Russell Edgington's disposal; Roman searches for a traitor in his inner circle; Sam is visited by some old friends; Terry and Patrick hunt for a former comrade; Alcide breaks some bad news to the Pelts; and a judge takes Andy and Jason to an exclusive club.

Jason is disturbed by a dream; Bill and Eric hope Sookie will help them look for Russell Edgington.

The aftermath at the asylum has Sookie filled with dread. The Authority retrieve Bill and Eric. Pam gets involved when Tara's actions lead to a fight. After receiving an alarming message from Jesus, Ruby Jean gets a visit from Lafayette. Terry thinks a curse is to blame for his predicament. Sam lends Andy a hand with an investigation. Alcide faces up to J.D. Roman reveals his plans for Russell.

As Sookie embraces her human side, she considers a life without her faerie powers. Salome shows just where her true allegiance rests. Sam uses his sense of smell to locate the shooters. Alcide gets ready for a fight. Lafayette searches for Jesus' body. Hoyt finds himself a new group of friends.

The Authority revels in a new direction; Sookie and Jason visit the site of their parents' passings; Luna gets stuck on Sam.

Salome and the Chancellors celebrate the start of the vampire holy war. Sookie gets a hint about her parents' cuddle but anti-supernatural enthusiasts put her in danger. Eric plans his escape. Andy and Jason are out looking for leads behind the shifter huggings. Alcide remembers how he was initiated into his pack. Arlene is trapped between Terry and Patrick's clash. Steve gets a new pet.

With vampire attacks are on the rise, Bill starts a public relations campaign to gain public favor. Nora, on the other hand, is having a hard time selling Lilith's gospel to Eric. Jason's discovery of a mysterious scroll could reveal details about his family history. The new sheriff of Area 5 presses Pam and Tara to obey a new directive. Sam and Luna search for Emma. Russell seeks out his destiny.

To help Sookie look into an ancient family secret, Maurella and Claude take her to meet the faerie elder. Jessica becomes an unwilling participant in Bill's ongoing religious conversion. The militaryuses a damning video of Russell and Steve Newlin as ammunition to deliver an ultimatum to the Authority. Alcide reconnects with his father. Sam and Luna hitch a ride into the Authority.

Eric makes a final and desperate attempt to bring down the Authority and, at the same time, save Bill from losing his humanity. Alcide gets ready for a second confrontation with JD. Sam and Luna must use all their resources in order to escape from the Authority. Andy must deal with the consequences of a deal he made.
