The teams start off at the Taj Mahal and must find the next route marker, located somewhere on the grounds of the palace. Frank and Margarita are the first to leave because of their fast forward pass from the last leg. Bill and Joe are the next to depart from the pit stop. Frank and Margarita are the first to find the route marker and now must find a yellow and white flag at Palace of the Winds in Jaipur. They must either take a taxi or a bus. Rob and Brennan are the first to arrive at the Palace. The clue is a Detour, in both they have to find a Holy Man by either riding an elephant up a hill or going by boat. Once they retrieve the clue from the Holy Man, they must head to Karni Mata Temple in Deshnoke and from there to Bikaner, a place where rats are considered sacred. Teams well have to get to the Temple of Rats in Bikaner where in a road block, one team member must walk though the temple of rats to retrieve the next clue. Margarita, Brennan, Kevin and Emily perform this task. From here they head to the pit stop at a hotel. Joe/Bill and Nancy/Emily arrive a few minutes apart. Nancy and Emily are the last to arrive but this is the second of three non-elimination points in the race. However,Phil tells us that someone will be eliminated in the next leg.

As Enterprise warps through the depths of space, Captain Archer decides to take the opportunity to visit a nearby ancient Vulcan monastery called P'Jem, a sanctuary for meditation and "Kolinahr", or purging of emotion. T'Pol briefs Archer and Commander Tucker on the proper protocols for such a visit, and the three of them take a shuttlepod to the 3000-year-old temple. Something seems amiss as the trio enters, finding it suspiciously unoccupied with damage to the building and the artifacts. A Vulcan Elder informs them they are interrupting Kolinahr and must leave, but Archer notices a reflection in an urn of a strange alien hiding with a weapon. He and Tucker rush the intruder, but then find themselves surrounded and captured by a group of militaristic blue-skinned aliens.

With the State Department dinner nearing, Bartlet vetoes the 'death tax' bill, throwing the staff into a frenzy when they learn that the House of Representatives will have enough votes to override the veto. Meanwhile, Josh talks to a governor who is debating running against Bartlet in the next Presidential election; Charlie is urged to ask for immunity in the upcoming testimony concerning Bartlet's non-disclosure; and C.J. singles out an entertainment reporter, Sherri Wexler, for retribution.

Investigating the murder of a woman in a rent-controlled apartment, Green and Briscoe initially turn their attention to janitor Roberto Ramos, who had been given a cash gift of $5000 by the deceased but claimed he didn't remember her when questioned. But it isn't long before the detectives discover that she was engaged in a long-running battle with her landlord and had been blocking the potentially lucrative sale of the building.
