The remaining eleven teams take off from the Pit Stop at the Hacienda san Gabriel de Las Palmas and receive a clue instructing them to travel 133 miles to the Pyramid of the Sun in Tehutecan. Once there, they receive another clue instructing them to travel to the San Marino Marina in Cancun, over 1,000 miles away. Some teams face busing difficulties, but all eventually arrive and face a Detour task that allows them to search for a clue in the water by choosing from two different modes of transportation. One team uses the Fast Forward to skyrocket into the lead. Another arrives last at the Pit Stop and receives the unfortunate news that they are eliminated.

After the incident in the Romulan minefield, Enterprise is in need of repairs. Archer sends out a general distress call, and receives a jumbled response from a Tellarite freighter, containing the coordinates of a repair station. When the crew arrives at the station, it appears to be abandoned ... until one of the docking ports lights up and reconfigures itself to fit Enterprise. Still, there don't seem to be any lifeforms onboard. Once inside the station, Archer, T'Pol and Trip locate a sort of diagnostic center that contains holographic schematics of the ships, with the damaged sections clearly highlighted. Somehow, the station has managed to scan the ship and anticipate the crew's needs - the schematic even highlights Reed's recent leg injury. A computer voice addresses the trio, asking them to select a method of compensation for the repairs. Archer offers some warp plasma, and the station accepts, saying the repairs can be completed in less than 35 hours. Though he is wary of the automated nature of the station, Archer accepts the terms, and the station begins the repairs. In the station's recreation room, the trio is impressed by the amazing technology on display - a food replicator delivers both cold water and Trip's favorite fried catfish.

Joey's worst nightmare comes true when she accidentally sends a very personal e-mail she wrote for Dawson to the entire student body. The next morning, Joey's e-mail is the topic of virtually all campus discussions when Professor Hetson decides to debate it with his students. Meanwhile, Jack makes an attempt to get to know his cultural professor, Mark Freeman, who pays no attention to Jack, a little better. Pacey, while struggling to survive the first days on his new job, closes a very important deal for the firm, which his wheeling-dealing mentor Rich Rinaldi takes full credit for. Eddie, a student in Joey's reading class, whom also works as the bartender at Helle's Kitchen, persuades Joey to confront any challenge that Hetson throws and not show any weakness since Hetson thrives on it.

The group takes a private train to the race track. On the way, Aaron grabs some one-on-one time with Helene, but Gwen keeps a close eye on them. Aaron steps away to call Angela back at the Ladies' Villa and wish her a happy birthday. At the racetrack, the Bachelorettes all place their bets, the winner receiving a surprise. On each occasion he wakes up partway along a byzantine assassination plot to kill the President's daughter with a plastic gun. Governor Robert Ritchie, Bartlet's Republican rival wants to have less debates, but the staff attempts to negotiate with the Governor for more debates. Meanwhile, Josh accuses his girlfriend of helping Senator Howard Stackhouse, the liberal third-party candidate, draw votes away from Bartlet; and Leo secretly meets with an Israeli official over strategy in regards to the Qumari assassination.

The murder of a female high school English teacher uncovers a love triangle that includes a female student and a male teacher, both of whom become suspects. The prosecutors have to deal with the student's multiple identities and refusal to live past adolescence.
