Hal and the boys offer to watch baby Jamie so an exhausted Lois can finally get some sleep. Hal leaves the boys in charge while he goes to the Lucky Aid to pick up more diapers. While the boys are watching Jamie, three beautiful teenage girls arrive and woo Malcolm, Reese and Stevie away for the night, leaving Dewey alone with the baby. Meanwhile at the Lucky Aid, Hal doesn't have enough money for the diapers and Craig forces him to work. Back at home, Dewey concocts an elaborate bedtime story for Jamie involving each member of his family.

Wanting to teach his son about responsibility, Michael puts George Michael in charge of the Bluth Frozen Banana Stand. However, George Michael decides to burn down the banana stand, which results in horrible financial consequences for the Bluth family. Meanwhile, Tobias auditions for a role in a commercial, but Lindsay inadvertently gets the part instead of Tobias.

The mythical Lady of the Lake appears to the Charmed Ones, asking for their help to protect the legendary Arthurian sword Excalibur. The sword still resides its stone casing, and soon dozens of magical beings arrive to try their luck at pulling the powerful object free. Piper finally pulls the sword out, but that leads to the arrival of a mysterious figure known as Mordaunt, who may have his own ulterior motives.

Marge wants Homer and the kids to watch television. The program she wants them to see is a segment of Kent Brockman's news program called "Oops Patrol." She identified a headline containing a reference to the mayor's "erection," as opposed to his election. For her effort, she wins a t-shirt, which makes her the envy of Springfield. Even Homer is jealous and sets out to win his own t-shirt. Homer tries to find his own funny headline, but instead finds a secret message to him contained in the first character of each row in a newspaper article about a giant pizza. "Homer meet me 4th street overpass midnite." Since it is today's paper, he follows his gut (drags Bart along) and keeps the appointment. His rendezvous turns out to be with his mother. Homer tries to help his mother elude the police, but he brings her right into their hands. Mr. Burns wants Mona Simpson to stand trial for the sabotage she did to his germ warfare lab back in the 1960's. On the witness stand, Homer pleads for his mommy, which the jury grants him. Homer enjoys catching up with his mother and steals a room from Flanders' house, for her new room. Mr. Burns is able to exact some revenge on Mona Simpson, by getting her to confess to falsifying her name at the entrance to national parks, which it turns out is a national offense. Homer laments the loss of his mother yet again. Homer hijacks the prison bus, but his mother wants to keep his involvement in her escape unknown and she does this by throwing him off the bus. She is almost successful in evading capture, until the bus goes through a guard rail, sinks into a lake and is subsequently cover by an avalanche of boulders. At her funeral, Homer loses his mother once again, when her coffin rolls down the hill. There is always a chance she will return as the coffin was found to contain last week's garbage. Homer looks for a message from his mother in the news and finds one that seems to satisfy him, but misses out on the one she's actually left for him in a giant taco article that she is alive and has been eating clam chowder, "Rhode Island style with crackers that keep on coming."

Fearing that Bobby is succumbing to bad influences, Hank makes him join a local church youth group. Bobby discovers that the group consists of cool punks (including their tattooed pastor, Pastor K) who worship God through skateboarding and rock n' roll. Hank approves of Bobby's new found interest in religion, but disapproves of the way Bobby starts to dress and talk, and when Bobby gets his ear pierced, Hank forbids Bobby to attend the big Christian rock festival, Messiahfest. Meanwhile, Hank's friends (and Kahn) decide that death row convicts shouldn't be the only ones to get great meals, so they create the Last Meal Club, dedicated to creating perfect 'last meals' for themselves.

When Peter wishes for a Jewish "money guy" to help them, Max Weinstein comes to the rescue. After meeting Max, Peter decides Chris could be successful if he converted to Judaism as soon as possible, but the plans for a "quickie" bar mitzvah in Las Vegas are quickly foiled by Lois.

Ben tries to stave off the torments of his dreams by staying awake, but the lack of sleep is taking its toll. Meanwhile, Samson looks to drum up new business by resurrecting several tried-and-true scams, including 'turtle boy' and 'man eating chicken'. Lodz warns a distrustful Ben about the dangers of not practicing his 'gift'. Sofie worries that her mother is losing touch with reality after she has a vision about her father raping Apollonia. Ben marvels at Ruthie's new snake-charming routine, and Lodz's psychic act gets a jolt from a mysterious source. In Mintern, Iris reaches out to Brother Justin over the radio airwaves who's still in the asylum, and Tommy gets a surprise reaction when he makes a pass onto Iris.
