Captain Archer is delighted to welcome his mentor, Emory Erickson, who invented the transporter, along with his daughter, Danica, aboard Enterprise to conduct experiments in sub-quantum teleportation. Erickson seems to be progressing nicely in his work, until the ship enters the blackest and most dangerous area in space known as The Barrens, and a member of Starfleet is brutally killed by an amorphous shape.

While Rhade are busy defending refugees on Seefra Five from the army of a local warlord, Dylan is surprised to find Hohne, the Perseid scientist lost and assumed dead during the problems with Haprer's tesseract machine, tesseract onto the command deck of the Andromeda. Hohne and Harper attempt to recreate the quantum teleporter in order to resupply the pinned-down refugees and during the reconstruction receive a message from the research station near the black hole where the device first worked.

As a result Coates is forced to sit in as the Sixth Juror.

In the wake of the Cylon sneak attack, the ragtag fleet of human survivors is forced to play a deadly game of cat-and-mouse with their pursuers. Every 33 minutes, they make a jump to a new location. And every 33 minutes, the Cylons manage to find them. The pilots are on the brink of exhaustion, relying on artificial stimulants to keep fighting, and the civilians are beginning to doubt the leadership of Commander Adama and President Roslin.

Lt. Sharon Valerii wakes up soaking wet in the tool room with an explosive charge in her duffel bag. Shortly afterward, a mysterious explosion destroys all the port-side water tanks on Galactica, creating a crisis for the entire fleet. Sharon can't remember a thing, but all the evidence points to her as a saboteur. She confesses her concern to Chief Tyrol, but he can't believe she's responsible.

Comfort faces more heartache this week when the pregnant paramedic is rushed to hospital with stomach pains and although it looks like the baby's alive but critical things take a horrible twist when she loses her baby resulting in Comfort blaming herself. Also Ellen faces problems when her father arrives early and Nina tells him Ellen told Abs he abused her. Disgusted in his daughters lies he tells Abs and Nina the truth, Ellen is in the country ilegally after fleeing the country after being charged with fraud. Elsewhere Bex throws Charlie a birthday party to remember.
