The Enterprise crew welcomes aboard a group of Tellarites, including Ambassador Gral, to transport them to the neutral planet of Babel, where Earth mediators will try to settle a long-standing trade dispute between the Tellarites and the Andorians. After receiving fragments of a distress call, Enterprise alters course to provide assistance, and arrive to find that an Andorian vessel has been destroyed by what seems to be a Tellarite ship. Though furious with the Tellarites for compromising the conference, Archer has no choice but to bring the Andorian survivors, including Commander Shran, aboard Enterprise.

Beka, Harper, Rhade, and Doyle are searching for Vedran treasure. They find a door that is rumored to hold inside a test that if passed will yield great wealth, but if failed will cause madness. Rhade opens the door and follows Beka inside, but Harper and Doyle are left behind as the door shuts behind the pair. Trance teleports to a carnival on Seefra Two to attempt to uncover more of her lost memories. Dylan goes in search of her, while Harper and Doyle attempt to free Beka and Rhade.

General Hammond, who is set to designate a crew for the Prometheus on a mission to determine if the Atlantis team is okay, designates himself to command the trip. He picks Jackson to join the team over O'Neill's objection. After embarking on the trip, the Prometheus happens upon an Al'kesh ship with a Super Soldier on board. The Super Soldier is able to transfer the Prometheus' crew to the Al'kesh and take over the Prometheus. Unfortunately, the Al'kesh's life support is nearly depleted. Daniel Jackson finds himself the only one left on the Prometheus. He must try to defeat the Super Soldier, who turns out to be a female, Vala, who is a smuggler just posing as a Super Soldier. Jackson must discover her intentions, and foil them, and plus rescue the Prometheus' crew, all at the same time.

Monk investigates the murder of an author who wrote a critical biography of a famous deceased martial arts movie star, Sonny Chow. The evidence present at the scene makes it appear that Chow is still alive and murdered the man who maligned him.

Sheppard's team investigates a downed Wraith ship, and find themselves stuck on a planet dealing with a lone Wraith survivor.

With water now found on a nearby moon in the form of ice, a labour source must be used to mine it. The answer is to use the prisoners aboard the Astral Queen. However, convicted terrorist Tom Zarek acts as their leader and organises a revolt, taking hostages with the demand of President Roslin's resignation.

After a flight deck accident kills 13 pilots and wounds many others, Kara is thrust into service as a flight instructor and ordered to turn a group of civilian pilots and academy washouts into full-fledged Viper pilots.

Charlie accurately predicts where a band of bank robbers will strike next. But when Don and his team confront them, a massive shoot-out occurs leaving four people, including an officer, dead. The outcome disturbs Charlie and he retreats into the family garage to work out an unsolvable math problem that he also plunged into after his mother became ill a year earlier. But Don needs his brother's help and tries to get Charlie to return to the case.
