Jack is living near L.A. under the name of Frank Flynn, working on an oil rig and living with Diane Huxley and her teenage son, Derek.

Paige and Henry try to help his parolee Nick get a loan, but Nick decides to rob the bank and take hostages instead. The press descends on the bank, leaving Paige and Billie to come up with a non-magical solution. Elsewhere, 3-year-old Wyatt brings his toys to life, and Paige develops new powers.

When a note connected to a supposed suicide is found, the team re-opens the 1994 case of a high-school kid who fell from the roof of the school building after having served detention. In 1994 the death was deemed a suicide, but the newly-found note indicates that the victim might have been fearing for his life.

Macy is the pivotal witness in a murder case, but when he is charged with a DUI the night before the trial his credibility is questioned and his career is put in jeopardy. While Jorda avoids talking to Woody about their romantic encounter she turns her attention to clearing Macy's name. Bug finally finds the courage to tell Lily that he has romantic feelings for her.

Tom is alarmed when his kids come down with chicken pox -- because hes never had it. Bree gets arrested. Lastly, after months of silence, Noah Taylor contacts Mike Delfino.

Other news includes patients doing uncanny things and relationship havoc being wrecked between the doctors, as per usual.

After Russ Corbett and his wife are found in a seedy hotel room, Russ dead of an overdose, Eames and Goren follow the trail of evidence to Bernard Fremont, a professional partier. With his beautiful blonde companions, Fremont insinuates himself into the lives of couples who don't know the city very well, then robs their homes. While investigating Fremont's past in Asia, Goren realizes Fremont is the mastermind who turned Nicole Wallace into a murderer, and was his most successful pupil.

Sam's policing method from 2006 is causing conflict with Gene Hunt, his DCI who's policing method is rooted firmly in 1973. Unable to determine whether he really is in 1973 or a coma, he gets on with his job. When Kim Trent - high profile criminal is arrested, Sam discovers that Gene has planted evidence on him to secure a conviction, Sam intervenes and releases Trent to Hunt's fury. Sam argues that even Trent has human rights, Gene tells him he's never fitted up anyone who didn't deserve it. Between them, they set out to nail Trent using Gene's unorthodox methods and Sam's 21st century policing methods.
