Stardate: 47310.2 Enterprise is confronted with evidence that warp travel is in fact degrading areas of space. They learn this upon being sent to search for a missing Federation medical vessel.

The woman who has developed this theory and her brother turn out to also be the ones attacking and disabling warp capable ships traveling through their home area of space.

The crew of Enterprise must reluctantly join forces with the brother and sister team, in order to locate and rescue the crew of the missing medical ship.

Dieting Philip is desperate for a burger, so Will brings him the greasy goods. One bite...and Philip keels over.

Some gang-members have sprayed their symbol on headquarters. The same gang also robs Hobie when he has sold some A & W soda on the beach. Meanwhile, Stephanie is upset because Mitch hasn't told her about the hiring of a new substitute lifeguard while Newmie is on vacation. But Mitch tells her she will like him. The substitute is named Carlos and he and Stephanie immediately fall for each other. They see the gang robbing Hobie and go there to help him. Carlos runs after them and Stephanie gets the impression that he knows the girl in the gang.

Peter, Frank & Murphy are all nominated for the Humboldt Award. While at the ceremony, Murphy can't understand how disinterested Peter is in the award and Frank hears a rumor about a network having to make cutbacks.

The school psychiatrist orders Beavis, Butt-head and Stewart to go on a canoe trip with Mr. Van Driessen, so he can help them get in touch with their feelings. Unfortunately, all the boys feel is the itch of poison ivy.

When the Hip Hippos get bored they check out an activities book that suggests a number of high risk adventures. The Hippos try bungee jumping out of a balloon, running with the bulls in Spain, and swimming with sharks. As they go through these dangers they are followed by Geena Embryo who tries to protect Flavio and Marita. Unfortunately, in doing so she takes the brunt of all the dangers.

Charlton Woodchuck heads to Hollywood from Kansas to become a movie star. He gets the starring role in "Franklin the Friendly Woodchuck", but the production turns out to be too much for him when he is maulled by a bear, attacked by a woodpecker, and blown up with explosives. Charlton quits the show and heads back to Kansas.
