Malcolm is convinced to play Softball by Lois and ends up doing very badly at it due to Lois's hold on him. Meanwhile, Francis tries to pick fights with Lois, Reese tries to break Francis's record of collecting toilet seats from a local junkyard, and Hal accidentally applies to become a member of the CIA.

Marta admits her true feelings to Michael, but before they start building their relationship, they decide that they should get permission from G.O.B. Elsewhere, Lindsay and Tobias find the source of Tobias' 'never-nudism' and George, Sr. attends his first hearing.

Phoebe frees a seemingly kind genie named Jinny from her bottle, only to find out that she now has to take her place in captivity. Chris attempts to use Phoebe to wish for Piper and Leo to get back together and thus ensure his own conception, but Phoebe's new genie powers grant the request in an entirely too literal fashion. Richard is worried about losing Paige, and wishes for her to come back into his life.

On a school field trip to the Museum of Television and TV Milhouse shows that he has developed a new attitude where he just doesn't care. Meanwhile Mr. Burns has moved Homer, Lenny and Carl to an offsite location (Moe's) so that they don't ruin a visit by the plant's board of directors. Apu and Manjula stop by celebrating their anniversary, making Homer realize he hasn't gotten anything for his anniversary with Marge. He gets extremely drunk and finds himself dancing' on the street where people, thinking he is homeless, start giving him money. Milhouse reveals the secret to his new attitude is the fact that he and his mother are moving to Capitol City, where they are going to get a fresh start. Both Bart and Kirk Van Houten are going to have to learn to get along without Milhouse being around. Bart tries to adapt to a world without Milhouse, especially after a visit to Milhouse in Capitol City makes him realize that things will never be the same. In the meantime, Homer has begun begging as a second job when he realizes he can make good money that allows him to buy Marge an expensive anniversary gift. With Milhouse out of his life, Bart finds himself bonding with his sister and she is enjoying the new relationship with her brother; a relationship that gets tested when Kirk gets "pity custody" of Milhouse and Marge is enlightened by the homeless on Homer's second source of income.

Luanne and Bill both get jobs at the hippest hair salon in Arlen, "Hottyz". But to land the coveted spots, they make some major changes. Changes that don't sit too well with their friends and families, or themselves after awhile.

The new probe reveals that the rowdy boy lived at a Catholic-run orphanage and was adopted two days before his suspicious demise.

A terminally ill bank robber, who is angered by the ravages of his illness, exerts what little control he has left in life by manipulating the unwitting accomplices he enlists to assist him with committing his final robberies. Goren and Eames are forced into a race against time to foil his plan for suicide-by-cop that will take both his life and that of his latest accomplice.

Dana is invited to a Subaru dinner party, who want to sponsor her tennis career, but Lara is hurt when Dana takes her male doubles partner instead of her. Meanwhile, Tim is shocked when he catches Marina and Jenny in a compromising position, Alice tries to sort out the problems with her mother, and Bette tells her father about Tina's pregnancy, but is upset by his reaction.

Before leaving for Paris, Carrie runs into Big and tells him that she wants him out of her life. After one last dinner with the girls, Carrie leaves for Paris. In New York, Samantha speaks at a breast cancer benefit and Charlotte goes to Carrie's in search of an adoption recommendation, but ends up talking to big instead. After talking with Miranda, Samantha and Charlotte, Big decides to go to Paris after Carrie.
