Wyatt's school play brings out the competitive mother in Piper, especially when her hand-made costume and parenting abilities are insulted by a seemingly perfect parent named Mandi. Unbeknownst to Piper, Mandi is actually a demon that is looking to kidnap Wyatt and take him to The Source. Meanwhile, Billie goes to Magic School, and Paige worries that Phoebe's new boyfriend Dex might be cheating on her.

Det. Rush re-opens the 1945 case of a baseball player, bludgeoned to death with his own bat.

Jordan feels bad when a prison inmate dies after promising that she would make sure he would live long enough to see his release date. While at the prison she notices the inmate needs immediate medical attention but the prison won't let him get it. Lily learns that her mother adopted her. She learns about the adoption in a rather unexpected way someone brings files to her. Woody in the meantime is busy trying to catch on hostage and keep his family free. Lily later finds herself being held hostage in a court building and trying to negotiate so that she and everybody else won't be hurt.

On one of Gabrielle's prison visits to see Carlos she creates a terrible riot, which lands Carlos in hot water. Gabrielle meets an interesting attorney whom she is attracted to. Also, Susan puts her feelings aside and joins Mike in searching for his son Zach, although Susan finds Zach when alone. She learns of his intentions to get back together with Julie, and feels she must take matters into her own hands. Lynette is surprised to find out that her son Parker has an imaginary friend. Lastly, George and Andrew both vie for Bree's attention as they both compete in making each other look bad in front of her, until one fight goes a little too far.

As Cristina tries to recover, she proves to be a very difficult patient, and a visit from her mother doesn't improve her demeanor any. And Meredith's mother, Dr. Ellis Grey, has the hospital staff running in circles. Jeremiah, a cystic fibrosis patient, could benefit from Dr. Addison Shepherd's medical knowledge, but her involvement in his surgery could delay her highly anticipated departure from Seattle Grace Hospital, leaving Meredith and Derek's relationship hanging in the balance.

When a cop's son is murdered by the mob, Logan and Barek realize that young Joe Long had been killed by mistake. Their investigation leads them to two rival mafia families, but it isn't long before Logan begins to believe that the true criminals aren't the mobsters, but the cops on their payroll. As the investigation narrows down to one main officer, Barek and Logan are faced with the difficult task of forcing the man's daughter to turn against him to get what they want. When the officer and his lawyer bring Logan's stormy history into play, even Deakins takes pause with his decision to have Logan on his force.

Julius Caesar has chased Pompey to Egypt in hopes of capturing him once and for all, though he discovers that King Ptolemy XIII has done something unspeakable to his former friend. Meanwhile, Lucius Vorenus and Titus Pullo are assigned with the task of finding Ptolemy's sister, Cleopatra, as Julius Caesar has plans with her. However, when Lucius Vorenus gets a strange request from Cleopatra, he must contemplate defying his duty in order to remain loyal to his wife.

C.J. has to deal with issues by herself when most of the White House staff is subpoenaed to testify in the leak investigation. A Palestinian leader is assassinated and Bartlet, despite major security issues, decides to attend the funeral. Meanwhile, C.J. is given intelligence information, and the public response to Santos' answer to an intelligent design question bothers Josh, though the rest of the staff is unaffected.

Larry wonders how a Japanese WWII veteran can call himself a kamikaze, and feels a nursing home bingo game may not be on the up-and-up.
