The six teams depart from the Pit Stop in Marrakesh and learn that they need to fly to Munich, Germany, 1,500 miles away. Once there they must make their way to a statue called Friedensengel and locate Kasperle, a famous German and Austrian children's puppet to find their next clue. Teams scramble for flight connections while others get standby tickets. Once there, teams are told to travel 50 miles by train to Innsbruck, Austria where teams discover a Fast Forward, involving a surfer. For one lucky team, this break allows them to travel directly to the Pit Stop. The other five teams encounter a Detour involving either going bobsledding or completing a relay race. Upon completing the task, teams next arrive at the Roadblock location where one team member must descend 230 feet on rescue cable to receive their next clue. All teams excel on this task. Near the end, teams find themselves in a foot race against other teams to avoid last place and a possible elimination, but one team stumbles, costing them the race.

Enterprise has dropped to impulse in order to get a closer look at a black hole that's part of a trinary star system. As it will take them two days to get there, the crew has time for personal endeavors. Archer concentrates on writing a one-page preface for a biography of his father. He also assigns Trip the task of making some adjustments to the captain's chair, which is apparently rather uncomfortable. Reed hopes to work on a new security protocol, while Hoshi takes over cooking duties for an ailing Chef.

A defense attorney who had just acquitted a cop killer is gunned down outside a Manhattan restaurant. The detectives start with police officers in the precinct of the injured officer, then to his brother, before they are led to a white supremacist who is part of a national network. McCoy is faced with the unlikely prospect that the defendant's attorney, his friend of 20 years and a friend of the slain lawyer, played a part in the murder of a Florida district attorney following the defendant's arrest. McCoy is able to make a deal that perserves the integrity of his adversary, but not without a cost.

A loveable new character, Mr Slave, makes his debut as Mr. Garrison desperately tries to get fired from his new job as the boys' 4th grade teacher. Meanwhile, the boys get sent to the Deathcamp of Intolerance for not tolerating Mr. Garrison's intolerable behavior.
