In the fifth season finale, Mary tries to right a wrong by explaining to Lucy that she never had "adult relations" with her sister's fiance, Jeremy. The only problem left is trying to convince Lucy. Also, Wilson unexpectedly drops by the Camden home from New York to see if he and Mary are really over by finding out her answer. Also, James talks to Eric about him attempting to have an affair with Annie, as Serena comes clean with Annie about her trying to have an affair with Eric. Meanwhile, Robbie and Wilson set aside their differences so that they can talk about Mary. Lastly, Matt learns a few things when it comes to Cheryl's honesty when she doesn't tell her friends that she's dating him.

Max, Isabel, Michael and Tess struggle with goodbyes on what they believe to be their last night on Earth before they travel back to their home planet. In the final hours, Max frantically searches for the killer that is still out there and threatens the lives of everyone they love.

Helen encourages Daria to invite Tom over for dinner, but Daria is reluctant to do so because she fears Jake's erratic behavior will embarrass everyone, especially after he starts obsessing over catching a squirrel that's been knocking over his garbage cans. Helen tells her that she will try to control Jake if Daria invites Tom over. Quinn, meanwhile, decides to find one boy to date exclusively, to show that she is mature enough to do so. Her detailed search for the lucky guy is based entirely on fashion sense, and it's ultimately narrowed down to Jamie, Jeffy and Joey. However, Daria starts playing with her mind and giving her unrealistic expectations for what an exclusive relationship entails (i.e., being together 24/7, adjoining burial plots, etc.), and during the course of a couple of days Jamie and Joey are both dumped, leaving Jeffy the one to come to dinner with Tom. At dinner, Jake's squirrel problems end up causing male bonding between him, Tom and Jeffy, and the three of

Malcolm Wyatt hires Ally to take his case. He's suing a girl for not going to the prom with him after she said yes in fall. The opposing lawyer is Larry Paul, and Ally is nervous about meeting him in court. But he never shows up, and his partner Coretta tells Ally he left for Detroit. Richard hires Jane Wilco as the office's new secretary, but after she gets the cold shoulder from some people, Richard wonders what ever happened to the friendly workplace he once built. Ally talks to Billy's ghost and decides to go to Malcolm's prom as his date and convinces him to sing solo and never stop believing in love.

Carrie discovers that she is pregnant and she is panicked that the timing is all-wrong. Meanwhile, Deacon and Kelly begin to reconcile and Spence is left out in the cold and Arthur insists that Doug build him his own bathroom in the basement.

Doug tells Carrie not to panic about having the baby, that he will take care of all her "burden", so he takes on a second job so that they can store a little extra money before the due date. Meanwhile, Arthur is annoyed that Doug still hasn't finished his bathroom and Deacon and Kelly reconcile.

Alex Adams and Guy Morton are forced into uneasy proximity.
